Boycotting a media organization based on vague allegations especially when the same organization is being hounded by ISI at the same time.
The defence ministry has moved a plea against that media organization in Pamera which is eligible to look into the plea. Geo Group has been given 15 days to explain its position. That's precisely how it is in the law. Is it illegal to apply a law to a media group?
Boycotting the group has nothing to do with the group's issues with ISI. Boycotting the group is a prerogative of the PTI. Geo Group has also boycotted PTI, albeit in a different way.

He can have as many peaceful demonstrations as he can, but since when a bycott of media group is equivalent to that? And please, please let me know when this bycott would fix this problem.
Honestly i think he's just doing this right now due to Army/ISI's differences with Jang group. Anybody who does now will win their favors.

PPP and PML-N had also boycotted ARY and Geo.
PTI blames Jang Group as an accomplice in the grand design of rigging. Telecasting victory speech of a candidate on 18% results and then inviting him immediately in its flagship programme to thank voters for the landslide confidence is not an attempt to influence the machinery which had yet to compile the remaining 82% results?
By the way, you seem to be more concerned over PTI's boycott of Jang Group than the issue of rigging. Do you really understand what does it mean to rig an election? It means the vote I cast for you, went against you. Do you see the graveness of the issue?

The allegation of rigging against GEO is so ridiculous. In the US projected winners are announced often immediately after poll closing.
It was NS who chose to make his victory speech at 11PM. His opponents didn't protest. Geo wasn't the only channel that carried the speech. Everyone did.
IKs allegation make no sense. Especially since GEO was so pro-IK throughout the runup to the elections.
IK is on solid ground when he talks about rigging at the polling stations. That needs to be investigated and he is right to protest. But dragging GEO into this makes no sense. And the timing is so suspicious. Aligns him perfectly with ISI's anti-GEO campaign. Very disappointing.

For your kind information, these elections were not held in the US where rigging is not as widespread and systematic as in Pakistan. Until you understand the power of the media in Pakistan and how things could be manipulated with its help, you won't be able to understand what the fuss is all about.

Imran's imperious resolution to highlight the issue of rigging without any apparent insubordination is truly commendable. Rigging is a serious crime, and it would be an absolute height of shamelessness and crookedness to sit in oh so democratic and systematic, fair and lawful 'West', and say 'oh well Pakistan should get over rigging - it happens'. Err, no. That's not the right attitude.
As with the decision to boycott Geo and Jang group, well I guess one thing is confirmed now - Geo is definitely going down. #winkwinkcoughcough
But if Geo is not going down, then this move is nothing less than a suicide. The price for picking a fight with country's biggest media group is too damn high. Let's hope there is a method to Imran's this particular episode of madness, because there always is and there's ought to be.

The role Geo played on May 11 was very clear. Najam Sethi, a key member of the group was acting CM Punjab, who helped carry out rigging in the province and then declaration of PMLN victory within a couple of hours. I have already stopped Geo News since that day. However we will have to take Imran Khan's current statement with the timing. Why didn't he boycott Geo during the past year? Secondly once Geo has passed through this phase, how can he afford to keep the boycott going? Doesn't seem to be a politically astute move.

In US, projected winners are announced based on verified exit polls. In Pakistan, exit polls are not conducted at all polling stations. Moreover, there is so much pre and post poll rigging that exit polls usually dont mean anything. In other words, if the end result has already been 'agreed upon', then you can engineer the exit poll results to say whatever you want.
NS gave his speech on his own, and it was telecast on many channels, but Geo was perhaps the only channel to officially agree with it and declare PMLN as the winner, even though less than 30% of the votes had been officially counted overall.
Geo wasnt pro IK. It was pro publicity, and was riding IKs wave....something all media houses do.

Actually thought alot, like meera and veena malik, he needed something to stay in news or create agitation, he couldn't find any other issue so he decided to go for election rigging mantra....
good he didn't become the PM of Pakistan, otherwise he may boycotted half of the world by now.
