Imran Khan and Political Corruption [split: Fallacies of a Playboy..]

Bhai jaanay do. Unki paarasaai ka sabab naarasaai hai. If ever he became a ruler, stories of corruption will be all over the place.

The reason is that an immense pressure from our social structure makes leaders corrupt, and leaders have to give in to the pressure.

And Imran is no g-d, he just a human, and he is bound to give in to the pressure if an when he becomes the Khalifa.

Re: Fallacies of a Playboy turned, Cleanshaven, English speaking Talib

Not really. It could be 'social pressure' it could also be GREED. And there is plenty of potential for personal corruption in the behemoth projects he runs, such as the Cancer Hospital. I think there is good grounds to believe that he wouldnt atleast be personally corrupt if he is ever in a position of power.

Having said that, there is sadly also evidence of the 'social pressure' you speak of. He could very well condone corruption by others and stay quiet about it for political purposes. Evidence of that is in his silence over NS's corruption ever since they became allies.

Perhaps due to an illegal judiciary that was in place until recently? because NS was not allowed to set foot in Pakistan while Musharraf was in power and judiciary has just been restored.

Also, because NS is in the country and has participated in most, if not all of major happening of Pakistan. but i agree, if Imran Khan is to keep his posture as the new hope for Pakistan's politics as some see him, he must be vocal against anyone who is wrong and must shed light on the corruption done by all.

The problem is that is isnt as if he just hasnt gotten round to Nawaz Sharif and been preoccupied with other stuff. He began his career bashing the corruption of Nawaz Sharif. He backed Musharraf's coup because Nawaz Sharif was so corrupt. He used to be very vocal about the need to have ehtasab for Nawaz Sharif and BB (remember the Junoon song?)

I get that he needs to be a political animal and make compromises maybe in order to survive in the system. Which partially supports the point Burqaposhx is making, although i maintain that there is hope that atleast personally he wont be corrupt.

Greed and societal pressure goes hand in hand.

Most of the "New" politicians come in with very high ideals and Pakistan has had plenty of "idealists".

All the coups and all the elections that brought in "new leadership" at the top were clearly with the hope of "change".

BTW "change" is not Obama thingy, it has been practiced by almost every "New" Pakistani leader.

The whole team at the top of ZAB was a group of honest socialists and communists.

With the exception of few, almost all of them succumbed to the pressures of the society. Mix that with personal greed and you got a killer combo.

Altaf bhai came with the slogan of change, and very quickly got enveloped in Bhatta scam.

Imran is no g-d, the same rules apply to him too. Cancer hospital example is not valid. Imran was dealing with a few million dollars and very small set of team for the hospital.

The only corruption possible was in the construction of the building and that would not amount to more than a couple of 100,000 dollars.

But the same Imran and his team will face $billions amounts of cash, land, and urban properties, if ever they get a chance to run the country. And that's where my friend things will go the wrong way.

Having talked about money and land, let us all not forget that Imran has already succumbed to the pressures of the society. Why else he would support Taliban brutality, suicide bombing, and above all destruction of girls schools?

So now you understand what is meant by

Imran sahib ki paarasayee ka sabab naaraasayee hai.
