Imran Golden Words

Imran Once said " Khush Kismat Crickter Wo Hay Jo Ba izzat tareeqay say cricket say retire ho" and there r very few crickters who retired honourably

There is a list and in the list there r names of some gr8 crickters like Javed Miandad  , Waseem Akram  even some Australians like Steve Waugh my Fav  , Mark Taylor . There might be some more but i remeber these players right now.

Now a days knife is hanging on Moin head :hehe: .

Wasim Akram retired gracefully? I think if he had announced his retirement right after WC'03, it'd have been a graceful retirement instead of being discarded then announcing retirement.

true :bummer:

This is sad state of status in Subcontinent .I think only 2 people Imran & Gavaskar retired gracefully. in subcontinent.

After Worldcup 2003 was the perfect time for wasim akram but may b he wants to make the imran statment true :hoonh:

I dont remeber much about Gavaskar but Imran Bingo! he has done most of the decision right :k: except marriage :frowning:

I know only 2 pakistanis who retired gracefully.. Imran Khan and Mudassir Nazar.. Everyone else got dropped from the team and then announced retirement when they see no comeback.. these players include, mohsin khan, javed miandad, wasim akram, waqar younis, saeed anwar, aamir sohail, ramiz raja, salim malik and etc etc.. i dont know much about old players like majid khan, asif iqbal and zaheer abbas so i cant say how they ritired..

Yeah thats true. Most of them never knew that they are playing last game and they took retirement after been dropped from the team !

i don know how true is that what i remember clearly that during the Press Confress after the Bangalore test in Mar 1987...Gavaskar was asked by Press to tell about his Retirement...since some times ago he answered the same in Qs saying that he would retire after he becomes the first batsman to score 10 thousand runs.....He said that "i know you guys are expecting retirement from me, But right now I wana play the WC"......I dont remember his announcing his retirement plans Before the WC at all.

as far as Moin is concern....he to me seeems like another case of Kapil Dev....but Kapil had a reson of playing for World Record....which is not same with MOin

To be honest it makes me realy sad when this happens to player like Waseem and Waqar :bummer:

He announced months in advance that he will retire after 87 WC. That was on of the reason people enjoyed a lot when he scored his first oneday century in WC against NZL.

^^ he may well have. I never heard of it though:D

after world cup 2003 and the poor state of pakistan cricket the best bowler of the 20th century wasim akram reversed his initial decison to retire to help the youngsters rebuild and when i heard dat ganja devil aamir sohail {chief selector @ the time} and co' wouldn't pick him, i was flabergasted, a player of wasim's calibre who could walk into any country's cricket team/lineup and he wasn't even considered for future selection, when clearly his performance was far better than anyone else's in the pakistan team during world cup 03' + @ 36 he was physically very fit albeit his illness {diabetes}.

i'll never forget the pathetic treatment delivered by the pcb to the three legends of the game {wasim, waqar and saeed anwar} + anwar wanted to prolong his test career.

this is exactly why i believe kai talent shouldn't excist in pakistan as pakistanis' don't know how to do qadar of something or someone special.

just imagine if players like was'/waq'/saeed etc represented teams like england or the aussies how much respect they would attain from media public alike.

hypothetically speaking, wat did wasim akram get in return for his 15+ years of hard grit and service to pakistan cricket???

How about money coming out of his wazoo. I know you don't watch pak tv channels so let me tell you about the program called "aik din geo kay sath" where they spent a day with wasim. This guy has a house any pakistani would just love to have and cars that we pakistanis in USA or Uk couldn't even imagine driving. Did I mention that they showed a farm house he owned outside of lahore.

^
u dint see him in that red ferrari when he last played test match in england????

Miandad, Wasim and Waqar did not retire gracefully. Wasim and Waqar could play may be another year to groom up the youngsters. But their own ego clashes were not good for the young team. Pakistan had suffered alot in 90s due to these two big names fighting with each other. I personally think Miandad should have retired after WC92, just like Imran. Or may be played a year or two the most to help young team with his experience. But he insisted to play till WC96, and boy was he terrible :smack: He is such a stubborn person. Nevertheless all three players are the jewels of our cricket crown.

messiah atlanta you are wrong i do watch pak tv channels. you know what i mean't i wasn't talking about luxurious lifestyles i mean't respect from the pcb when it was required the most. and was' waq miandad r just mere examples, players like zaheer abbas and basit ali where victims of personal vendetta's and shady treatment from our cricket baord.

love it or leave it. If you don't wanna have nice house, great cars, farm houses etc then just quit the pak cricket team. Yusuf youhana's father used to be a sweeper in lahore and now he lives in the most posh area of lahore. Abdul razzaq's dad was a simple store owner and he now also live in the posh lahore area. Why, simply because they plays cricket. If PCB is so bad than why do they keep coming back to play for the organization that treats them so badly. And PCB isn't the only organization that does crap like this. It is the standard practice of EVERY organization is sub continent.

At last my predictions came true OOps not mine its imran predictions :hehe:
