Yeah Imam Mehdi is going to come first. I think Dajjal will come before Jesus ? and Jesus will slay him.
How will Hazrat Isa (as) slay Dajjal?
With a sword. Once Hazrat Eisa (AS) seems Dajjal (or perhaps when Hazrat Eisa arrives) dajjal will start melting like salt (there must be hadith on this...i`ll see if i can find them), whatever he will try hiding behind wil speak out and tell hazrat eisa that Dajjal is hiding behind it, all except a certain kind of tree.

Or will it be some sort of a nickname or something , like that mentioned in the Old Testament that refers to the Rasul?
Also, what does "Mahdi " mean? I never heard anyone use it as a name. I've heard it as a nick name for Amaad.

Certainly, the time of prayer shall come and then Jesus (peace be upon him) son of Mary would descend and would lead them in prayer. I said to AbuSalamah: What is the Jassasah? He replied: A woman trailing the hair of her skin and of her head. She said: In this castle. He then narrated the rest of the (No. 4311) tradition. He asked about the palm-trees of Baysan and the spring of Zughar. He said: He is the Antichrist. Ibn Salamah said to me: There is something more in this tradition, which I could not remember. He said: Jabir testified that it was he who was Ibn Sayyad.
I said: He died. He said: Let him die. I said: He accepted Islam. He said: Let him accept Islam. I said: He entered Medina. He said: Let him enter Medina.

Yes, his name will be Imam Mehdi (ra). He will be a direct descendent of Hazrat Muhammad (sa) and will have a lot of resemblence with the last Prophet (sa). He will announce him being Imam Mehdi (sa) while doing a tawaaf around Kaaba.

Al Mahdi means "The guided one". The word Mahdi comes from the word Al-Hadi (to guide). According to some hadith his name will be Muhammad. There is a book available in some of the bookstore about this topic by Ibn Kathir.
as i know is that dajjal will be coming first and people will call help from imam and than imam mehdi (a.s) will come and rule this world and jesus (a.s)will also come with them to tell all the christian that islam is the real religion and than muslim will be everywhere and than imam mehdi (a.s)will be murder by a jew lady and than after a period of time the muslim will than become munafiq again and kayamat will than come!

Well, according to the Shi’ite (whom I belong to.) Imam Mehdi (A.S.) will be the one to slay the anti-Christ (dajjal) and the one who will lead the prayers when he arrives at the Kabba, and Hazrat Essa (A.S.) would follow his lead.
And ahmadjee what about the swine… is it like a big swine that must have to be killed or all the swine in the world would have to be slaughtered… I wonder where they’d find a bacon and cheese breakfast after that…

The reason why I am asking this question is to get a better picture what other people actually believe about the second coming & Dajjal.
To me it seems rather interesting that people believe there will be an actual sword fight between Dajjal & Hazrat Isa (as) ... at a time when their are smart bombs & bunker busters.
There are also very fairy tales associated with this glorious time to come, in my opinion, and many I have witnessed here in thsi thread. All these are a outcome to taking the Hadiths literally word to word.

I am Asad from UK.I am very pleased to see so many real belivers here,it overjoyed me that shia"s are still alive in this world.well its nice to see different views of people. and i am here also to show my view.well first why Imam Mehdi(a.s)will come? well mine answer is that when the world will full of zulam and munafaqat, and then people will pray to god and plz send some one who can help us and save us from this cruelity,and Imam Mehdi(a.s) will arrive First in kahan kabba and as many books said that he will arranged the army of 313 people who were finest from this world that can be called as true muslims for fight with dajjal.when Imam Mehdi(a.s) will arrive everyone in this world hear in their coming news in thier own language that Imam Mehdi(a.s) is here and some will believe with this Mojaza but the ones who will not believe will become muslims when Hazzart issa(a.s) will came down from the fourth Asman and will pray namaz behind Mehdi and from seeing this christions will become muslims after this a long battle with un-belivers with dajjal and the ones who r also in muslims religion can be called as munafiqs.
Note= Hazaart Isaa(a.s) will also maryy as God give him a promise.
Muslims brothers u can not get every information on these forums but u have consider urself for studing such books of islam whom can give u guide and information . The best way is to read quran with meanings and Tafseer.we r not the real muslims but we have to try and if Imam Mehdi(a.s) is slecting 313 people of army only from this world what u think that were we stand ..?
