Do you have any image of ALLAH SW T in your mind when you pray? Or it’s just light!
Re: Image of GOD
Interesting question hm. I've always imagined distant light.
Re: Image of GOD

Re: Image of GOD
Why can't we imagine GOD?
Re: Image of GOD
just a sense of HIS Presence...never a shape or a light or anything because HE is NOT what you can fathom...there is a Hadees i believe that no eyes can see HIM nor no mind can think of HIM because HE is NOT what your eyes have ever seen anything like him.
so, just a sense of His Devine Presence that encompasses everything...HE is like air...it's always there which you can feel but can NOT see!

Re: Image of GOD
There was a kind of similar thread sometime ago in Philosophy and Spirituality forum by the user Philosophy.
The best ever answer for me to have ever come across was by psyah in that, and I quote him here:
When I imagine God ... Since I am bound by my aqeedah to believe that He does not occupy form since this is creating similitude with His creation ... I do so starting off with what I find familiar and then push the boundaries of my imaginal vision so that the imagery fades away leaving behind an intense feeling that I can then grow and focus upon.
So I know that God is Beautiful so I think of beauty in human terms and push the boundaries of this vision so far that the image disappears leaving an imprint of the feeling that is growing ... There is no way to visualise God ... When I think that God as the Overseer ... then I imagine that feeling I get when someone watches me, but then magnify it as much as I can ... It is less important for me to attempt seeing God in my mind than it is to focus on how I would feel knowing that God is before me in all of His Majesty in the Best possible Attributes.
Re: Image of GOD
Never imagined or wanted to imagine (picture) Him.
Re: Image of GOD
yeah kind of image but not light and not exactly a shape but yeah an image but i cant explain
Re: Image of GOD
I imagine a stage with a curtain up in the sky. So as I start to make Dua, the curtain opens, but it's kinda smoky and really dark? Ya, kinda like that.
LOL
Re: Image of GOD
really really intense light
Re: Image of GOD
I dont know. The closest I can think of Allah, is my mom. Maybe because I read somewhere, Allah saying, if you want to see how I look, look at the face of your mom after the fajar prayer.
I have often wondered how beautiful He himself must be, when His creations are so.
Re: Image of GOD
Usko nahin dekha Humne kabhi
Par uskki zaroorat kya hogi
O maa
O maa teri soorat se alag
Bhagwan ki soorat

Re: Image of GOD
*Hard to 'imagine' someone who is beyond 'image'.
*
What I mean here is:
**
To imagine God is to limit his presence.**
