As for damage, there have been some split ends but I think its because of the way he cut it!
I think girls should get it done only if you have thick hair. My hair is not thick so thats why it doesnt look that great! My sister in law has long thick hair and it looks great on her.
Ive washed it twice now Brit Chick but I end up blow drying it and just using my hands to give it more volume.

While you are in Japan… think about getting a digital camera. Japanese are way ahead of rest of the world in cute/compact/impressive digital cameras. The snaps taken by cellphones are too small and grainy, and don’t do justice at all

the style is really nice, i bought some coconut wax as well to keep the spiky parts in place, it looks really great and u dont need to give it too much attention
only thing is, u need to keep getting it cut ever 3 weeks or so :p and my hair grow so fast its impossible to keep up with them

It looks like you got it styled. I agree with you that thicker hair looks better straight, as opposed to thinner hair.
Straight looks nice as well, but I prefer the curly look. I think I am biased cause I have curly hair. grin
