Paheli the questions you are asking don't even matter because you have to realize this is a situation in rural sindh and not North America or even Lahore, Pakistan. Things work differently there. The guy probably knows she comes from a good family, has good values so she would prove to be a good partner. He knows the family well so he must have thought hey why not marry a girl that I know about rather then a complete stranger (as its done in arranged marriages).
