I'm gay....what do I do?

you do realize that this is making fun of the fact that gays are not allowed in the military. it’s basically saying that that is an insane reason why one shouldn’t allow gays in the military. HOW SAD THAT YOU THINK THIS IS A REAL REASON. LOL LOL LOL LOL WOW.

Re: I'm gay....what do I do?

its good looking through the humurous perspective too somtimes.

I have to disagree with you here because no, the interpretation does NOT lie in its reader. Think of the muftis who are in the highest level of understanding as far as Islam is concerned who go through years and years of training to first learn Arabic as a language, then as it is written in the Qur'an, and then they undergo rigorous training to interpret Islamic teaching for the common man. So how does someone like you and me, well at least me since I don't know your training, simply open up a Qur'an and figure out what is being said? It's not that easy.

The beauty of the Qur'an is actually the fact that it is the word of Allah (swt) and that it hasn't changed and will never change.

Re: I'm gay....what do I do?

^ agree with you.......

that is why we refer to Tafseer of Quran to have a better understand of what is written in Quran

Re: I'm gay....what do I do?

And even then, BH, you need to go back and forth and listen to lectures to get a better perspective of what is being said and why.

Regarding homosexuality, we've been told that it isn't permitted in Islam, but Allah knows best. Let's worry about ourselves before passing fatwahs I think. This is a huge debate that involves so many angles and developments and one can argue for length.

Re: I'm gay....what do I do?

I agree ^. In any case... why would Allah create a book thats truths could only be known to those who study for many many years. I've never heard of the Quran being only accessible to the muftis. Does their knowledge make them more worthy of the truth. I believe that when Allah created the book he wanted it to be accessible to all, every muslim in encouraged to read the Quran themselves to gain a better understanding of the religion. And even then, do u think all muftis agree 100% with the explanation of every line in the Quran? There must be some variation, just like there is with a lay man. This is the reason there are branches of Islam, different schools of thought and interpretation.

In any case, who is to say that sunnis are "right" and wahabis are "wrong" for example. You cannot outline who is right and who is wrong. Only God can.

I'm done here, its getting annoying... too much fatwah-passing as NikSik says.
