Agree Imran does n’t make sense at times and some of his political statements are indeed immature but I will continue to support him because he is atleast honest (money-wise)

Well this is a turn up for the books, but then again it is entirely consistent with Imran's one and only policy - hatred of Musharraf. Desperate Imran now saying the most desperate things.

Although I don't know Imran's exact motives for saying it (if indeed he has said that, video evidence anyone?) but one can also look at his statement more objectively
The problem is many of us Pakistanis have this personal vendetta against BB, Nawaz Sharif and Mullahs, therefore we can't tolerate even just statements regarding these individuals that may favour them. We see things in black and white.
On the surface it looks absurd but *Imran's statement is in fact an attack on BB's reputation. That she is not boycotting the election because of corruption cases against her. *
Imran is not doing it for personal sake, whereas Musharraf promulgated the NRO for personal interest and gain only.
If BB were to agree to an election boycott, this would be an act of such goodness, that it would sufficiently atone for even her $1.5 billion corruption in the past. For the restoration of independent judiciary would save Pakistan from corruption for generations to come, and would prevent hundreds of billions of dollars in corruption in the future. The civil institutions that will likely be erected in the aftermath of a boycott, would help the country become khud mukhtaar for a change rather than relying on handouts from the West in particular USA
Imran didn't say he will adopt some unconstitutional measure to get BB forgiveness for her crimes. He will surely resort to some legal measure.
Just like prisoners can be let off their sentences for good behaviour, Pakistan's penal code which is mostly inherited from the time of the British, can be amended to include the concept of pardons if and only if they are granted by an independent panel of judges.
"Case ma'af karaounga" means BB is corrupt and should ask for pardon, return the money and she can get off with a lighter sentence. Amnesty is a legal issue and can be discussed in BB's case if she asks for it. No big deal.

Motive: he wants BB, Fazl etc to join and boycott the elections. there is strength in numbers, i dont see any other motive.

how long has imran khan been in politics? 9-10 years at least. and yet he has to beg for support from a woman who has recently said i. she will allow u.s. troops into tribal areas and ii she will let iaea have access to aq khan.
tells you where imran khan's standing is in pak that he has to beg for bb's support to overthrow the most hated man in the history of pak.

well i have said it from the begining, imran has turned power hungry by holding ns hand, he will be another corrupt politian if elected.
In his speech he says on the one hand he wants a free judiciary, but then says he will support BB if the courts go after her for the corruption cases. What sort of stupid and desperate logic is that? He is in effect saying that he will go against the free judiciary if BB sides with him!

well i just saw the whole video and imrans speech is full of double standards.
yep he wants a free judicary but will beg the judicary to forgive bb.
secondly its just amazing how imran has now started talking about pervaiz elahis corruption and that he shoud be in jail, when 200 times more corrupt ns is in his bed, i remember imran also had the same stance against ns during the 90s, so it wouldnt be suprising if imran also gets in pervaiz elahis bed in the next few years,.
this guy is a hyocrite, after this speech my hatred for him has doubled, he can burn in hell.

Do you really think he would do that in a public speech if he expects Bhutto to change her mind?

PAKISTAN Tehrik-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has said that if Benazir Bhutto boycotted the elections then he would help end her corruption cases.

When you are working towards a larger cause such as restoring true democracy, upholding judiciary etc. you sometimes have to take painful and harsh decisions in life and that's exactly what Imran is doing, getting all parties to boycott this sham election and unite against Mush. If as a result of all this struggle, a strong and independent judiciary and true democracy gets restored in the long run then BB's corruption is a small price to pay for our nation.

Imran is willing to pardon BB (not for his own sake) only if she is willing to work towards the larger cause of restoring true democracy and independent judiciary

He said it in public - watch the video.
He is basically saying “free the judiciary…but we’ll stop the free judiciary if it goes after BB”. What sort of stupid logic is that? A free judiciary is free - period. Who is Imran to pick and choose what cases it can hears or not? This once and for all shows Imran is lying when he says is fighting for a free judiciary because he is not, he is just about hating Musharraf, and that’s all there is to his whole political programme.
He is also using the most vile language against those judges who have chosen to take the PCO. Pathetic.
