Perhaps you are forgetting that Sam was supporting Taliban before 911. Had Taliban handed over OBL, perhaps Taliban still be ruling Afghanistan, all destruction to Afghanistan and Pakistan could have been avoided.
Not really, Sam only gave some money to Taliban to fight opium, even with that US was threatening Taliban in summer of 2001 of attacking Afghanistan.

When you get oxygen from some one, you don't have to respond like above. You simply hand over, no conditions attached. OBL was not innocent or angel. He was the main cause of destruction to Pakistan. Later that resistance caused colossal losses to Afghanistan and Pakistan. It is a shame that OBL was hid by army for all those years and ultimately killed by SEALS. What Pakistan achieved in playing this stupid and dirty double cross policy?

It was more than that. Taliban government was happy to receive this aid for 28 million population at that time.

how will the outcome of US negotiations with Taliban affect the average american citizen? even the Colombian drug mafia is more a threat to US interests than taliban in afghanistan. the US can simply buy 6-12 months worth of time to exit the stage, negotiating with terrorists are excellent for this. Is Pakistan or Afghanistan in the same boat enjoying geographic, social and cultural isolation from these barbarians? If so, excellent. If not, aren't there better choices at this point? Do you really want to legitimize their ideology in your society, because it sure will seep in into mainstream if you accept this line of thinking.
So wait they are or aren't negotiating with the Taliban. I am still confused on which angle you are going with.

Oh so they are negotiating now? How odd you didn’t believe that to be true a few hours ago. So the Taliban have never harmed US citizen. I guess we should tell that to the US military personnel that have died.

If there is reason why Pakistani nation is confused vise versa Taliban/terrorists policy its b/c of people IK. Btw, read this article. LAHORE: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday declared that his party would block the Nato supplies at all costs, even at the price of ending the coalition government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). Briefing the media about the decisions made a little earlier at the meeting of the PTI core committee, Imran said the PTI would never allow Nato supplies to pass through KP territories from now on, adding that the party would pass a resolution of blocking Nato supplies from the KP Assembly on Monday (tomorrow).
He said the PTI would soon summon an All Parties Conference (APC) to develop a national consensus on blocking Nato supplies and get the army out of the US war. The meeting was participated by KP Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak and almost the entire central leadership, including Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jahangir Tarin, Asad Umar, Hamid Khan, Khurshid Kasuri, Shireen Mazari, Shafqat Mehmood, Ijaz Chaudhry, Aleem Khan, Mehmoodur Rasheed, Ahsan Rasheed, Dr Arif Alvi, Fauzia Kasuri, Munazza Hasan, Andleeb Abbas and others.

Imran lamented the previous governments who joined the US war and trapped the Pakistan Army against their own people to provide a winning situation for the enemies of the country. He said the PTI decided to block Nato supplies to force the US to stop drone attacks. He said starting from the KP Assembly on Monday, the PTI would table and pass resolutions in the national and other provincial assemblies in the coming week.
He said the KP chief minister had summoned an emergency session of the assembly on Monday for passing that resolution against Nato supplies.
He referred to the judgment of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) which had asked the government to block Nato supplies if the US did not stop drone attacks, and said the PTI core committee decided to block Nato supplies in the light of the high court judgment. Imran appealed to all the political and religious parties to get united to save the country, as it was time to fight the war to protect the country. He said the entire nation should join hands for the sake of the unity of the country. The PTI chief praised the efforts of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar for the sake of holding peace talks with the Taliban, and said Nisar had worked hard towards that end but the US sabotaged all those efforts. Yes, the money was mostly for NGOs, not the government, for humanitarian efforts. US never accepted Taliban govt as “official” govt.
