how will the outcome of US negotiations with Taliban affect the average american citizen? even the Colombian drug mafia is more a threat to US interests than taliban in afghanistan. the US can simply buy 6-12 months worth of time to exit the stage, negotiating with terrorists are excellent for this. Is Pakistan or Afghanistan in the same boat enjoying geographic, social and cultural isolation from these barbarians? If so, excellent. If not, aren’t there better choices at this point? Do you really want to legitimize their ideology in your society, because it sure will seep in into mainstream if you accept this line of thinking.

So wait they are or aren’t negotiating with the Taliban. I am still confused on which angle you are going with.
