It's a plain and simple case of business loss. The most prestigious institutions like Harvard and Stanford also lost money of their endowment funds when they invested in real estate sector while it peaked and crashed throughout the world. It all happened in the presence of their consitutions that allow only A-grade investments. IK is not a member of the endowment board committee which takes investment decisions and there is always a reason to believe the guy who has been your biggest donor.
If there is anything still any bit good about this country, IK and SKMT are surely two of them. Anyone averse to reality can take an exception. Khawaja Asif has only increased my trust in IK and SKMT.

As far as I know this does not qualify as fraud, money laundering or even simple bad business. Many charitable organizations do this to ensure that money makes money rather than sitting around in a bank account. Some of these ventures success and some fail.
Now if you can provide evidence of these funds being used for personal gain then that's a completely different story.

If what you are saying is correct. What has stopped IK to take Kh Asif and co to the Supreme Court? Sue them for defamation. What is the delay?

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Parvez Elahi on Thursday said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) should not make Imran Khan’s welfare institutions like Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital target of its ‘traditional’ political victimisation.
Elahi, in a statement, said that targeting a hospital for political vengeance was highly deplorable and the greatest moral degradation on the part of “N- League.”
He said politicking against most modern hospital rendering great services to the cancer patients was highly condemnable and worst example of resorting to such low level tactics and grave violation of moral and social values.
The PML-Q leader said that Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital was a non-political welfare institution rendering healthcare services to the people where millions of cancer patients were provided most modern treatment and highest standard of facilities and deserving patients are even treated free.
He said that PML-N’s campaign of allegations may not harm Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan but it would certainly cause irreparable loss to the cancer patients from all over the country in particular the deserving poor patients who are treated free of charges.
He asked the PML-N leadership to discard such low and negative tactics. He said the mishandling of the hospitals and the patients in the Punjab, deteriorated situation in the government hospitals due to their faulty policies and the bad treatment being meted out to the patients and the doctors are very sad reflection on their tall claims of “rendering of services to the people.”
Elahi further said that if a welfare institution is rendering such invaluable services to the cancer patients, it should not be stopped from working and vengeance of political opposition of its founder should not be taken from the most modern and the greatest cancer hospital.

SKMT is a standalone venture and has its own board to make such decisions......Imran likely is not able to do this even if he wants to.

If he is not doing so, it means he is involved in this misuse of donation money. According to Kh Asif if IK could misuse chandah money, what is the guarantee that he will not steal government money when he will be given the government?

If I were in his shoes I would likely ignore the accusation simply to prove that it is so baseless that it does not require action at all.

If Khawaja Asif was serious in having the issue probed, there were many options available to him:
1) courts (he is an expert in going to courts when issues concern the federal government)
2) knocking the door of NAB since he believes corruption is involved
3) public accounts committee of the national assembly
Now will the cases be decided in press conferences? I don't care if any one alleges corruption on imran khan, his moral sins, terian and Sita white. But this is an entirely different issue, and should have been treated more carefully (not like our traditional politics).
