Right. It’s not the horrible equipment/lighting/acting/sets and the much maligned “camera” which is responsible for this crappy film. Its our film makers who’re creatively bankrupt and therefore produce the trash they always have – and this film called Ik Din Laut Ke Aaoonga proves my point. This film was shot in Bharat, using the “latust eqopmant”, all Indian technicians and everything else. It still sucked. And then you have films like Inteha and Jeeva, which were shot with minimal foreign help (they did get some help for the choreography in Inteha though) yet they were possibly the best Lollywood has had to offer.
They make all kinda of excuses. It used to be"we don’t have a platform to publicise our films on" and then the satellite revolution took place and they finally had one. Then it became “our cinema houses are sucky”; the cineplexes opened up and they had a venue to screen their films on too. To solve the technical problems, they went across the border, and still ended up producing gutter level trash. It proves that you need a polished, refined mind more than anything else to make a good film.
Look what the guys in Islamabad have done with Zibahkhana which was made on a miniscule budget with a novice cast and its been shown at festivals all over the world. The trailer looks stunning and those guys have got the results using vintage Pakistani film songs and an all Pakistani technical crew. Its hard for the lollywood guys to admit, but no fancy camera/ritzy choreoography/expensive set can subsitute for the SKILL and VISION you need to make a film, something which they so lack. I say, only Syed Noor, Samina Peerzada and Zeba Bakhtiar (maybe Shaan) should be allowed to make films. These people know their art, the rest just imitate.
