Ijaz-ul-Haq betrays Musharraf, reveals army role in Shaukat Aziz's appointment

So another one of Musharraf’s lotas has now betrayed him! Its also sad how the top brass of the army and musharraf were picking out their own henchmen in the past!

Daily Times - Leading News Resource of Pakistan

LAHORE: Former prime minister Shaukat Aziz was interviewed by army generals before his appointment as finance minister, ex-federal minister Ejazul Haq told Express News on Sunday. He said that before their appointment, ministers in those days were first interviewed by army generals and then by President Musharraf. Aziz was quite keen to become finance minister, the former minister said, adding that the Chaudhry brothers had reservations about his appointment. Ejaz said that Aziz was an expert in ‘making relations’ and it was his this skill that helped him in securing the posts of finance minister and prime minister. He claimed that Aziz’s policies had burdened the people with bank loans. President Musharraf should resign if all political parties were demanding that, Ejaz said, adding that he was ashamed of Lal Masjid operation and amendment in the Hadood Ordinance but that he was powerless at that time. daily times monitor

Re: Ijaz-ul-Haq betrays Musharraf, reveals army role in Shaukat Aziz's appointment

He was ashamed of the amendments to the Hudood Ordnance?

Spock, why are you trusting the words of a man who is against making it easier for raped women to achieve justice when their rape was not witnessed by 4 men?

So his bigoted views makes him incapable of speaking the truth? His daddy introduced the silly hudood laws so he supports them.

Well buddy, I dislike this guy, always did, from the day the elections were rigged so he could beat Raja Sahid Zafar from Pindi in 1990 to the day he was shedding his croc tears last june, but the fact remains, hes spilling out the beans. Its no secret that the Chaudhry brothers who headed the PML[Q] were against Shortcut's appointment as PM. So who in the world imported him and made him PM?

I am sure he will now try to make his way into the PMLN but I really hope hes denied entry. He was one of Musharraf's henchman and should always be treated like one.

Lotas are lotas, will remain lotas, they go with the flow, no morals no principles, simple!

Everyone knew that, didn't we? These lotas are just endorsing what people knew all along, it was sham democracy born by sham elections.

I think it was people's choice to secure more loans, govt policies probably only made it easier, this is what had spiraled the economic activity IMO.

And this doesn't make you suspect that he will say whatever he thinks needs to be said to get into this power bloc?

Besides which, I am sure the military shoehorned Shaukat Aziz in. No politician in Pakistan could possibly be competent enough to put a technocrat into the finance ministry rather than a lackey.

And on a slightly more serious note than that, of course a man with no political history at all in Pakistan could never be selected by a political party to be a minister. Pakistani politicians are only ever interested in getting their own lackeys into ministries - it's how you reward support and ensure loyalty from the ministry in Pakistan.

So are you saying Ijaz (murd-e-mujahid jnr) is telling the truth?

Maybe. Though what politician tells the truth? :rotfl:

Yes everyone did, but now its becoming official.

I didnt know Mr Musharraf and Mr. Aziz were a bunch of liars!

Getting involved with politics is like wrestling with a pig. No matter how clean you were when you started, by the time you're done you're muddy.

Re: Ijaz-ul-Haq betrays Musharraf, reveals army role in Shaukat Aziz's appointment

So if what Ijaz said was true, it just adds weight to the people of Pakistan's belief that the top brass of the army is meddling with everything. Its not a lie, but the bitter truth. Ijaz's daddy himself was the biggest example, whose legacy has been transferred to Musharraf.

Son of a dictator.
Shareef loved Zia too, and learned to dictate from his spritual father. Remember how he removed Laghari from presidency, and put his guy (Tarar), who was actually on his payroll as Itefaq industry's account lawyer.

What does Shareef loving Zia have to do with IjazulHaqs statement? Also, what does Leghari's ouster from presidency have to do with the topic? You are just hurt because Ijaz-ul-Haq spoke against Musharraf, bringing in Nawaz Sharif is just stupidity.

Spock bhaijan. This is excellent news. All potential PM’s should be interviewed by th Army Generals. Especially if it means Unprecedented Economic Growth for the nation, as seen under the premiership of Shaukat Aziz, and leadership of Great President Musharaf. :k:

God Bless the Pakistani Army Generals for making an excellent choice.

IjazulHaq is corrupt and opportunist. I always knew that.

Which unprecedented economic growth? The imaginary one that got Shortcut/Musharraf the massive 2008 electoral victory? :hehe:

Is that why he was handpicked as a minister in the corrupt and opportunist Musharraf regime?

Spock,

yeh sapola, 9 saal Musharaf ka behind kiss karta raha hay. aaj jab Mush itna strong nahin raha oar shayad chal chalao ka wagt aa gya hay, to supola apnay hi mohsin ko dang marnay chala hay. Yeh ehsaan framosh ab kah rah hay ke Lal Masjid ka action ghalat tha. Us wagt kya yeh drugs par tha?

Re: Ijaz-ul-Haq betrays Musharraf, reveals army role in Shaukat Aziz's appointment

i dont think statements from this so called "politician" is worthy any discussion on GS! atleast on this one I agree on PPP statement "Zia ke Baqiyat" he has only in politics only because he is son of a one of the wrost dictator in the history of Pakistan!! wonder why any sane party would accept him as politician

Well, maybe one can ignore things that is difficult to understand by those who are ignorant of economical figures, but what would you do with things that even an idiot could see? For instance, we may ignore unprecedented growth of Pakistan per capita income, GDP, etc … or ignore 8 years of relatively low inflation period and unprecedented decrease in debt to GDP ratio of Pakistan, but what about things that are obvious? For instance:

8 years of stable rupee moving around Rs60 to a dollar.
8 years of continuous increase in dollar reserves from less than $1 billion (1999) to $16.5 billion
8 years of continuous decrease in Pakistan interest rate, from over 18 percent (1999) to less than 5 percent.
8 years of continuous increase in Pakistan federal tax collection that increased over 3 times from Rs 300 billion (1999) to over Rs 900 billion.
8 years of continuous increase in export (that was stagnant before) but increased from $7.6 billion dollars in 1999 to over $19 billion dollars.
8 years of stock market rise that increased from below 1200 (1999) to 15500 (considered as best Stock Market performance in the world before downfall started on 21st April 2008 after choors took over the country)
8 years of unprecedented increase in Karachi Stock market capitalisation, increased from Rs 350 billion (1999) to around Rs 4800 billion.
8 years of unprecedented increase in Pakistan minimum wages, from less than $25 a month or around Rs 1200 in 1999, to $80 a month or Rs 4800 in 2007 (an increase of around 3 times in 8 years).

and so … on and on and on … are all these also imaginary?

Brother, this forum do not consists of ONLY political ignorants like Jiyala who would believe anything what Zardari and his party members would say or Ganjaylas who are new Jiyalas of Nawaz and would believe anything whatever BS Nawaz and his party would gas-out. Some people on this forum could also think, so be careful before putting jokes as reality :hehe:.
