It still happens in Pakistan, That was the main reason why edhi ppl have a cradle outside their centers, so that people can put their unwanted babies (mostly girls) in them, rather than strangling them.
all sorts of sheit happens in Pakistan , no need for covering it up because of lame , unwarranted, and in-accurate patriotism that has been handed down to you as a family asset.

Well I was just watching a talkshow on ARY this morning where they were discussing the same problem. They invited Bilqees Edhi as well to talk about the cradles outside Edhi centers and who are the people who usually leave their or someone else’s children and through what reasons do they justify their action? As she mentioned, it was mostly illegal childs that were being put there just so the real parents can save their face in their respective societies. There was a 3% population according to her statistics who left their children due to financial problems and stuff. Leaving girls in the cradles was out of question as this isn’t prevalent at all in our society, not at least in Pakistan.
