hey i would like to know can a person give pvt exam only for biology subject? if he/she has already given phy,che exam through a local board?
Re: IGCSE (o levels)as a pvt student
oh yes of course you can do it. you can do it through british council-pakistan
see their flow chart for private candidates
http://www.britishcouncil.org/pakistan-exams-gce-reg-flow-chart-pvt-2.pdf
ps. you said that you did phy, chem etc via local board (if you do bio via british council then the board will be british like edexcel, aqa etc…i am not sure but they might say that you should have other science subjects too…so for this you get your marks converted so it shows what it should have been according to the british board.)
Re: IGCSE (o levels)as a pvt student
thanks alot blessed , but i am in uae do you have any idea of uae requirements / policies. so it wont be possible to giv single subject exam? no chances at all !!

UAE :)
Re: IGCSE (o levels)as a pvt student
british council is in uae too. and yes you can register just for one subject too. they are bothered with the money i.e. you pay on time whether you register for one or 20 subjects its up to you (this is my assumption since the form doesnot say anything like that you must choose atleast 3 sujcets etc etc and what i said earlier (that they might ask you which relevant subjects you have etc etc) well i confused it to something else)
so yes you can do it privately
here is the bc website for uae

Re: IGCSE (o levels)as a pvt student
i think for you this is the correct form
http://www.britishcouncil.org/edexcel_igcse_june_2011_dxb.pdf
do read “declaration by student” and “i understand that” sections since they are very important
Re: IGCSE (o levels)as a pvt student
CIE (cambridge international examination) EDEXCEL and OCR are all uk boards. so you basically you will be doing biology with uk board. all these three boards offer biology and to be very honest these three boards are well recognised so cant say which is the best for bio. but i'll say choose the one with less fee :) since they are all good.
Re: IGCSE (o levels)as a pvt student
ahaan all right i’ll go through it can i learn bio in 2 months ( person who doesnt know about it) :hinna:

no worries at all.
to be very honest i am not into science so i wouldnot know which one is easier but i know one thing its not that one board does hard exams than the other. they provide more or less the same exam.
btw if you arenot prepared then you should take the exam next yr. just an advice :)....bio is a difficult subject and 2 months arenot enough
Re: IGCSE (o levels)as a pvt student
i am thinking to do this yr, as i have soo many things to do for next yr ![]()
Re: IGCSE (o levels)as a pvt student
ok in that case maybe you can ask them if you sit the exam with resit lot but it wont be resit for you (resits are later on the year and you will get more time).
goodluck and anymore help needed ask me. ![]()

But blessed is right…for someone who hasnt studied bio…2 months is an extremely short time. You should sit for the oct/nov exams.
