Re: If you're Pakistani and you're mistaken for an Indian...
How do you know that's their assumption? Do they specifically say you "oh you're a lightskin Indian from Kashmir"? I'm just wondering.

Re: If you’re Pakistani and you’re mistaken for an Indian…
WHat is your favourite scene and episode? What is your favourite hum tv drama theme song ? I like bhool. Nice, na
I also like Bunty I love you. ’I will watch dastan. Waise maine wikipedia kiya hai. ANd i think maybe it is the answer to why you hate indians. Dastaan suonds like a great drama but it is about partition and the villains would be Indian (or Hindus/Sikhs)..just like reverse would be here. So I guess it is understandable. But just remember there are also moves like My name is Khan which is directed by a Hindu. I will wacth Dastaan but you should also watch Ramchand Pakistani.
Re: If you’re Pakistani and you’re mistaken for an Indian…
All I know is that these Indian-Pakistani theads are helping me reach my century faster. After all they are my specialty. Some batters are into flat pitches others like pitches that turn.Too many oceans and
sarhadein separate the guppies. So we’ll have a skype meet and the topic will be Pakistani dramas starting with Humsafar. Ginti (123456…) and me will test your knowledge. My dad was hooked after 1st episode. You will be as well. Here is a link to get you started
Sorry mods im turning this into showbiz Pakistan..bt there is a bigger meaning behind it ![]()
Re: If you're Pakistani and you're mistaken for an Indian...
The meeting has to occur between Delhi to Lahore to Karachi. K to L to D also allowable. But only as 2nd option.

Well the agenda for the meeting is set. We'll discuss the idea of marrying out of parental obligation without knowing a person in relation to Asher and Khirad's story in Humsafar. Can it realistically work in real life? Bring some examples to the table. To get the most out of the meeting you need to have watched at least 6 of the episodes. All clear. Good. :)
As for location since D2LK is not around unfortunately we cannot make those the locations. The location will be a time from shaam to savera. Or if we have to go Delhi Lahore and Karachi. Then it will be in the clouds situated above those 3 locations. I'll be skyping at Delhi ..you can be close to the border at Amritsar near Lahore and ginti will represent Karachi.
Re: If you're Pakistani and you're mistaken for an Indian...
I just find the notion of hating someone because of their nationality a little ludicrous.
Re: If you're Pakistani and you're mistaken for an Indian...
Our decision was well thought out and irreversible. Please reconsider.
Re: If you're Pakistani and you're mistaken for an Indian...
The decision to discuss Humsafar remains irreversible. Our locations will be in those places physically but through the internet and skype. I am happy representing Delhi. You can also locate yourself in Delhi if Amritsar close to Lahore is hard. Ginto can represent Karachi and we can find a Lahori. Shayad Reha ji or Prince will represent Lahore. M
y name is Shaam savera..all my considerations happen between shaam and savera
Re: If you're Pakistani and you're mistaken for an Indian...
Subah and dopehar may have their own objections. Plus is this the way you treat your elders?

Good point Reha ji. Your threads have inspired a few others. I am understanding it from the point of view of Ginti. I am hopeful that by the end of our convos her love of Humsafar will overcome her hate of Indians. We're lucky to have that exposure to other nationalities abroad in our multicultural communities but it isn't as much the case in India and Pakistan. Someone really needs to go out of their comfort zone to learn and understand the other communities. I love Humtv and the programs are great but theree are hardly any minority characters or actors in role of protagonist or the hero. Indian Tv isn't all that better but there are Muslim leads and actors on tv shows and movies. While Muslims are portrayed stereotypically as are Pakistani characters there are some who break the mould i.e. SRK in My name is Khan and Rani Mukherjee in Veer Zaara. Even if it's not the best representation it is positive. With Pakistani movies there is Ramchand Pakistani but maybe not as many. I'm sure with time there will be more. So when someone watches a partition based drama where the evil characters are of the minority or seen as the enemy doing evil deeds and there is no parallel positive representation of that minority/nationality it is natural that Ginti or anyone would see all Indians/Hindus/Sikhs as "the evil enemy.
But then partition was 60+ years ago and all of us are born after that time period. How reasonable is it to see everyone through that time period? While there were stories of neighbours turning on each other because of religion, there were also stories of people sacrificing their lives so that their neighbours could escape. How do we know that an individual Indian or Pakistani today would not act differently then back then. Lot has happened in the world since then. German and English people don't hold grudges and hate each other because of WW2 and neither do all Americans or Japanese hate each other so why do we continue the hate. Ok we've also had some wars but how does that make the individual civilian responsible. It's hate on both sides and I just don't understand it. I am not very nationalistic so I don't really see how hating can even be seen as patriotic. I didn't choose where to be born and get brought up. It was decided for me so I don't see why it should be a reason to hate someone without knowing a person.

Maine kya guna kiya. Maaf kijiye Southie Uncle. Unko kya objections honge. Aap mere topic pe dhyan nahi de rahe to main kya kahun. The central topic is humsafar because Ginti also likes it and we're here to improve her perceptions of Indians.
