Re: if your family was wiped out would you move closer or away from religion?
The thing is that it is a common disease among human beings to take things out of context. When you refer to Quran, please make sure that you understand Quran by reading Quran completely. Quran explains itself several places that** The LOSERS** are the one who will enter hellfire.
give you just an example, rest you can read Quran and find yourself:
64:9 The Day that He assembles you (all) for a Day of Assembly,- that will be a Day of mutual loss and gain (among you), and those who believe in Allah and work righteousness,- He will remove from them their ills, and He will admit them to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, to dwell therein for ever: that will be the Supreme Achievement.
64:10 But those who reject Faith and treat Our Signs as falsehoods, they will be Companions of the Fire, to dwell therein for aye: and evil is that Goal.
Re: if your family was wiped out would you move closer or away from religion?
Average American Girl...the verses you posted do not say "If you dont follow my religion you are going to hell".
Rather, they actually are, as muslims believe, words of God...God is saying to us, that HE will be the one to decide who goes to hell and who doesn't.
Any muslim who claims to say they can point at someone and say "he/she is going to hell" is ignorant, and unfortunately, an example of how most muslims think.
Re: if your family was wiped out would you move closer or away from religion?
Firstly.
When I responded to Skhan’s posting:
[3:85]
“By the One is Whose hand is my soul, no one of this
nation, Jew or Christian, will hear of me and not believe in that
with which I have been sent, but he will be one of the people of
Hell.”
I understood gist of his post to defending an idea that paradise in the hereafter is exclusive to muslims and that Christians and Jews are doomed to hell. My post was meant to convey otherwise.
64.9 - In my thinking , in order to dwell in paradise one must…
Believe in God.
Are sincere in character.
Are morally ethically in manner.
Losing God’s grace in the hereafter is mutual to all peoples if ^ is ignored
64.10 - In my thinking, those that are condemed in the hereafter are…
Re: if your family was wiped out would you move closer or away from religion?
^ Very convenient definitions. Care to elaborate on exactly whose God and which teachings you are referring to? Or should everyone just follow their own religion and meet up in Heaven?
Re: if your family was wiped out would you move closer or away from religion?
Anwaar bhai, by saying that you know that only Muslims will be going to heaven, aren't you trying to take his place? How do you know what the Almighty has in mind? Everytime I try to pursue my religion, this kind of thinking by the majority of Muslims takes me two steps backward. Really.
Re: if your family was wiped out would you move closer or away from religion?
Fortunatley, I am not saying anything. It’s the Quran which is saying all this.
After the Prophethood of Muhammad:saw:, only those are guaranteed to be successful in life hereafter who come into the fold of islam. And before him:saw:, the followers of the previous prophets (AS) are given the same success provided they stayed firm on their belief at that time.
