That’s a tough question, how can you politely tell your kid that his friends’ parents will mercilessly burn in hell for all eternity for their sinful ways. You can’t really.

But a simple answer is: because they love each other, too modernistic though-- let’s just stick with burning in hellfire with sprinkles on top.

We can’t say that … We can only say that they are subjecting themselves to a dangerous path … Which could lead them right into the Fire, perhaps they repent before death and they are saved … Is this the answer with sprinkles on top?

I would say the same as I told about drinking alcohol, wearing unappropriate clothes etc., that it is gunah and not allowed in Islam.

^This. And I would tell my kid to not discuss the marriage/lifestyle with the student in question as it’s their personal matter (kids can repeat stuff).

Everyone who is saying dat religion is the reason… u cant tell ur child dat its coz of religion!!!
Do u think bible/thora/gita… allows this? NO doesnt .. so please respect others religion n dont misguide ur child. Dat religion thing is not true…

@queen agr baat islam ki ho to aap hamesha proof mangti hai n u always want others to respect ur religion… n now ppl r saying they will tell religion as reason… aapne kyun nahi poocha ke konse religion mein yeh allow hai… n proof kyun nahi manga … !!! I guess yahan baat islam ki nahi ho rahi isliye there is no need for this

Ps: islam is not the only religion which forbids this. Think once before saying stuff abt any religion.

1.i am fine i jus want to know why ppl say this gay thing has something to do with religion?
2.we re talking abt west here so western countries are christian countries! leave it!
3. its not abt positive or negative its jus no religion teaches u gay/ lesbian thing

I think there are a lot of good responses here already.

The other thing to remember is not to answer MORE than the child is asking. A very young child might be curious about family structure, but is not going to be thinking in terms of sexuality or sin. Make sure to understand the question before answering beyond what the child has asked.

Very, very good point.
Whenever a child asks a question we tend to interpret it in a very “adult” way because that is how our minds work in default.

Answers to some of these “taboo” or “difficult” subjects can be very simplistic if we think like a child.
