If you were President of Pakistan....

What is the one thing that you would have done?

I would have done my best to eradicate religious intolerance from the root level and have given supreme rights to judicial system.

Re: If you were President of Pakistan....

^ that sounds very good...but the question is very similar to " what would you do if you won the lotto," we all have good intentions but once you are the president many thousands of fastors are playing a part in every little decision you make.

Re: If you were President of Pakistan....

I would have filled m pockets with all the booty I could get. he he he.. why miss a golden chance

Re: If you were President of Pakistan....

^Pure (Pak) leadership stuff.

supreme rights to judicial system?

Re: If you were President of Pakistan…

ya, which we don’t have right now. Today, every lullo panjoo is above the law. That is the crust of the problem.

No one should be above the law.

Re: If you were President of Pakistan…

  1. Execute B!tch and Ganja first the rest of the clan latter…

Re: If you were President of Pakistan…

u stole the words right outta my mouth!

Re: If you were President of Pakistan…

Kinda reminds me of the movie “The Fall of Roman Empire” The last of Anthony Mann’s historical epics is a smart, handsome spectacle of the decadence, corruption, and intrigue that tore apart the greatest empire the world has ever seen.

The last dialogue of Stephen Boyd who plays the role of Livius..

** “I will not be suitable as your cesar, because my first official act will be to execute you all” **

This is when they offer Livius the thrown after Livius kills Commodus the cesar.

Re: If you were President of Pakistan....

well first of all.. start workin on gettin tax. in that way u do have money to pay the police more.. as they are the real people who secure the city..

next.. have a proper judicial system, which is fair and free of bias.. and den since the judicial system will be clean.. send the police after all these looters..

and yes.. every decision u make.. has many factors playing around it.. its easy for us to go on and on about how mushy this.. and how mushy that.. bt put ur self into him place.. u have more then just the paki public to think about.. u have india, america, UN, and god knows wat..

mushy is the best thing currently for for pak.. many will deny.. many will support.. u always have two sides to stories..

Allah hafiz

Re: If you were President of Pakistan....

Given that all Pak's problems stem from poor education levels, I'd spend as much as possible on that, simultaneously enacting measures to curb corruption.

Re: If you were President of Pakistan…

for God’s sake, pay more anyone you want but don’t claim that they are the real people who secure the city, in fact they are part of the “real people” who loot the city.

Re: If you were President of Pakistan....

^^

Somehow I seem to agreeing with Captain1 on this one. Yes guys I am not talking about Pakistan, but from the Indian perspective. It is so true...

If ever I were to become the President of Paksitan(Will not/cannot), I would dismantle the madrssahs and would introduce radical measures in increasing education(real one)....

I would give up claims on Kashmir and try to mend fences with India and Bangladesh.

I know I am on a sticky ground here, but still Pakistan is loosing quite a bit of revenue and respect by fomenting trouble in Kashmir(IOK).

Re: If you were President of Pakistan....

Confiscate the lands of the feudals and distribute it to their tenant farmers.

Feudal power must be broken.

Re: If you were President of Pakistan....

ban maullas from politics, and throw @$$holes like qazi hussain and his bum chum the one with the orange pagri out of pakistan.

comuterize all tax payers and make sure they get them in.

construct footpaths in all big citys.

develop resorts in the north and on the makran coast.

build more high rise towers.

Re: If you were President of Pakistan....

Separate Mosque and State.

Re: If you were President of Pakistan....

and NEELAAM TARIQ AZIZ.

Re: If you were President of Pakistan....

If I am the president ……

I will kick out the elected government since its not based on democracy rather Sham democracy

The corrupt elected leaders will be exiled but their party members will be grand-fathered into “my own” party

I will establish speedy accountability courts but will only try the leaders who are already exiled, but will keep some of the important players in my kitchen cabinet and parliament.

I will establish grass root level democratic setup, by allowing only my favorite members to establish local governments, this way we will uproot sham democracy.

A referendum will be held, just to make sure that I stay in power.

I will keep the fundamentalist in check, at least I need some viable democratic opposition to my rule, since they have never won more than six seats in the national assembly for the last 60 some years I will be easy with them.

And I will…..

Ohhh I just realized I am already the President

Re: If you were President of Pakistan....

Enforce a complete ban on indian music and films anyone caught selling or buying them is severly punished.
Improve relations with America and EU.
Improve relations with isreal(all we need are guarentees that the Holy places are not harmed and their is freedom of worship there) PLO and the rest can go to hell
Help Iran, syria and the western countries come togather
Re-intoduce the forgotten islamic rules and enforce sharia as much as possible.(Mullahs will be appointed by the state)
abolish all nationalist and secular political parties.
abolish feudalism
Take a more belligerent stance on kashmir,no normal relations till kashmir is resolved
no people to people contact(i.e who are not members of the same family) no exchange of "artists",no cultural exchanges srinagar-AJK bus service is okay since it allows kashmiri families on both sides to meet each other.

Re: If you were President of Pakistan…

Copying the old Communist model used in the USSR and Maoist China?

Re: If you were President of Pakistan....

Yes,but the communist tried to undermine the religion by appointing their own mullahs(who were members of the communist party),
closed mosques and there was no freedom ofworship.State appointed mullahs will make sure that religion is not used for political purposes or to oppress the minorities.By being paid by the state the mullahs will not have their own political agenda(but that dosent mean that only one form of fiqah will be enforced over all muslims like what they do in KSA and iran).
The solution is not to seperate religion from state but to reform the state along the ethical and moral guidelines laid down by religion. For that you need religious experts or ulema
