Yeah, in an Islamic Republic, you can’t have Mullah’s towing their own line…what they can do is join a different political party in a multi-party state, but their official duties must tow the state line.

Das Reich, I am so happy that people like you have no chance of becoming the President of Pakistan.. I would rue the day that people like you get power in Pakistan. It would be unstable and that unstability will lead to trouble in the subcontinent and it would only be a matter of time before Pakistan is declared as a failed state.
In one breath you talk about further islamisation of Pakistan and in another breath you talk about improving relations with the US and EU. Arent these contradictory...

first of all i would not want to be the president I would want to be the PM since last time i checked "officially" we are in a parliamentary system! but that sall down the drain when a dictator is ruling. anyways i would fix the judicial and election system first! give the power to the courts!! cancel the orders for the some 52 billion or something spent on mercedez for diplomats, and also cancel f16 order and spend that money on earthquake areas! bring the military back from waziristan!!clean out the civil instutions from retired army generals and bring back the qualified people for the jobs!, punish land mafia's, and start an educational revolution!!! very simple! on foriegn policy i would take the parliament into confidence, turkey and china at the top of the list to keep moving ahead with them! get up off our knees to amrika and look them into the eye! and adopt an offensive "defensive" policy towards india! because when the awam is with you no1 can stop you!! and as for benazir and nawaz let them back into country because if i have faith in the independent judicial system and the courts of Pakistan and the right evidence then they will have to accept the ruling of the courts!

Not at all this is the point that you guys do not understand being islamic DOES NOT mean hatred for the western countries and isreal.The source of trouble with the western countries are political disputes NOT ideological or religious.
When muslims spew hatred for the westerners they express their resentment over the colonial era.Now thankfully that period has ended(only some political disputes remain) if those disputes van be resolved peacefully I dont see any reason why the muslim and western countries can exist peacefully.
Do you really think the US and EU care if alcohol is outlawed and indian films and music is banned in pak?as long as we are not harboring extremists and doing good bussiness.
