If you have a boy and a girl

At what age do you stop giving them baths together and when should they have their separate rooms?

Re: If you have a boy and a girl

I do have a boy and a girl and I have never given them baths together. I would have given my son his own room once he was around 9 years old but our living conditions didnt allow us the extra room. But he got his own room at the age of 13.

Re: If you have a boy and a girl

i think stopping around 3-4 yrs old is a good age because thats when kids learn a lot of stuff about themselves and others around them -

My son was born when my daughter was already 4 years old so I never gave them bath together but they used to play together in bathtub with their swim suits on.
I think after age 10 if you have space and money to buy big house then we should seperate their rooms.

Re: If you have a boy and a girl

Can I ask similar thing but in a different manner? How many have a son & daughter who share a room? What is the age difference? How is it working out?

Re: If you have a boy and a girl

at 2 i would stop bathing them but i dont have kids, though i have two cousins one male one female both are 2 yrs old and they know pretty much everything going on around them. the boy who is 2.5 yrs old knows english and talks soo i wouldnt be bathing the kids togehter after 2.

separate rooms, if circumstances allow then from the beginning, otherwise around age 7

Re: If you have a boy and a girl

i would never bath a son and a daughter together , regardless of age. even a newborn has sharm o haya which should be protected.

we dont even change our son in the presence of others. ive seen friends change their babies with other kids lingering and looking on.. sometimes of the opp sex.. find it very behayaa.

My brother and I are 1.5 yrs apart. I was about 4 and he was 2.5 when we stopped taking baths together. I don't remember anything about it and stayed very innocent and naive throughout my teen years, so I don't think it had any bad effect on me. :)

I would probably make separate sleeping arrangements by the time one of the kids starts kindergarten/5 yrs old.

My husband has two older sisters---one is two years older and the other three---and his mom separated him from sleeping with them when he was about five. He doesn't remember ever bathing with his sisters.

what about boy and boy?

why just son and daughter, if its sharm o haya that a newborn supposedly has, then it applies to boy and boy too.

and really the way I have seen many pidoos act :D they got no sharm o haya..:D

Re: If you have a boy and a girl

hmm what about girl and girl?

Re: If you have a boy and a girl

what about those parents ( i know a family) who have big house but they still dont even try to make their kids sleep separate (even in teenage ) . they have reason that they cant sleep alone they are scared.

yeah that too..

Re: If you have a boy and a girl

I have 2 girls, 6 and 3 yrs old. They still bathe together. Will stop that soon I guess. Right now they take bubble baths together and sing songs. They do sleep next to each other though. Will probably move them to separate rooms next year.

Abhi choti hain. Choti si nanhi munni bachiyan hain :bummer:

Re: If you have a boy and a girl

Both of my girls take a bubble bath together. I have started putting in older one in a shower just for mere convinience.

Sister and I look baths together until I was 7. Shared one room until we were 17.

I think it's easier with one gender. They might get a bit curious about different body parts at the age of 4 and start asking questions.

And you have to deal with that sooner or later

Re: If you have a boy and a girl

Right. At this point my girls have no idea about boy which is just fine with me yeahhhh :snooty:

^ nikki don't pass out!!! :)

Re: If you have a boy and a girl

Questions are going to come sooner or later. My 4 year old already asks

Why does baba need to shave every day?
What are those? - pointing right to your chest?
Why do girls have long hair and boys don't?
Why do you wear diapers sometimes? (maxipads)

It's natural - you can't avoid it. They are curious. Just have to give them the right answers without devulging too much information

Re: If you have a boy and a girl

Oh god what will happen to me when my girls get older :hinna: What a pathetic mother I am

Re: If you have a boy and a girl

i have 3 years old boy and 2 years old girl, and yes they still bath together occasionally not regularly , only when i am in hurry. and they do play together in water in their underwears. now i will stop giving them bath together. will love to put my son in seperate if i get one.

Re: If you have a boy and a girl

When my lil girl starts asking those questions, that's when I'll build the cage.
