eastern women keep crying and mourning about beatings but do not pay their hubby the good price,

when they have equal rights why shouldn’t women beat them?

or if they beat them wouldn’t it be better than crying .

Actually men/boys are really strong even the "thin" ones I used to bet and hand wrestle to settle stuff growing up, but I would lose.

sweet lady , some men in pakistan beat their wives, i have heard alot about this , in pakistan , women keep silent to safeguard their marriage ,

but it is better to beat them with sticks, chairs, cutlery etc, watever comes in ure way :)

Iraj, kisii wife ko piTne kaa mood ho to vo apne hubby ko peeT ke dekhe lol...men are way more physically strong than a woman unless wife is like a haathi and the hubby is like chooha! :D hehe

What did I just read?!

There is no reason for a man to hit a woman… At all.

And no where in our religion does it say that “occasional beatings are good for you”.

"According to the Qur’an the relationship between the husband and wife should be based on mutual love and kindness. Allah says: “And among His Signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that ye may dwell in tranquility with them, and He has put love and mercy between your (hearts): verily in that are Signs for those who reflect.” (Ar-Rum: 21)

         The Qur'an urges husbands to treat their wives with kindness. [In                the event of a family dispute, the Qur'an exhorts the husband to                treat his wife kindly and not to overlook her positive aspects].                Allah Almighty says: “Live with them on a footing of kindness                and equity. If ye take a dislike to them it may be that ye dislike                a thing, and Allah brings about through it a great deal of good.”                (An-Nisa’: 19)

But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance - [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike them. But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand

Surat An-Nisa’ [4:34] - The Noble Qur’an - ??? ???

34: Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has made one of them to excel the other, and because they spend (to support them) from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient (to Allah and to their husbands), and guard in the husband’s absence what Allah orders them to guard (e.g. their chastity, their husband’s property, etc.). As to those women on whose part you see ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (next), refuse to share their beds, (and last) beat them (lightly, if it is useful), but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means (of annoyance). Surely, Allah is Ever Most High, Most Great.

So hitting wives is condoned, unless they’re are obedient. Now who get’s to decide if she’s obedient or not? This isn’t my personal view but it’s what the book says. Am I taking this out of context? Defend this!
