Sane or pathetically biased and naive? Seems like some people live in a bubble where they think Imran was the only muslim person in this whole wide world who went clubbing and slept around, whereas Veena was some virgin satti savitri Queen before her nude pics became public? I guess it’ll show us in very Holy and make us very sane if we also start talking about Veena’s bedroom life and draw comparison with Imran’s? Thats what sane people do right? Yes Imran’s ‘private’ wasn’t a ‘secret’, yet it was his private life, he didn’t do it for public. And you are no one to judge him or pose any fatwa, or say he’s a bigger sinner than Veena. Who are you to say that? As with hypocrisy, I see how you’re having fun passing fatwas on a man’s private life, yet you’d be the first person to get your jockies in a twist if a woman’s bedroom deeds are being discussed and judged by random people. I’m sure you’d be quoting internet Islam from left, right and center to show how its a person ‘private’ life and none of an average man’s business. Veena went public with her naked body (its a part of her professional life) and decided make a proper mockery out of a significant national institution (ISI), yes thats were Pakistani ‘pride’ is hurt. Don’t bring the usual women are eternal victims, evil desi, saas bahu mentality, at lest try to understand the political sensitivity even if its too complicated for you. Sahir Lodhi posing nude and showing a middle finger to the ISI would’ve caused the same amount of uproar. Yes the public has something against third class entertainment clowns pushing the boundaries to get famous, its like that everywhere.

Likewise NO one here has the right to do that to Veena. Also, in the west not claiming a child is a far worse thing than posing mostly naked on the cover of a magazine. Maybe I’m desensitized to the latter so it’s not really a big deal to me - I see it every day with some celebrity or another. I come from a world where women are free to do what they want, when they want and I believe that so long as you’re staying within the law knock yourself out. If she wants to degrade herself that’s on her, not on me. Why should I care? It’s HER choice and she doesn’t represent me.

The Imran vs Veena is like comparing apples and oranges. Political figures are held to a much higher regard than actresses so anything he may have done will be magnified and seem a lot worse than Veena because he’s supposed to be a respected man. It’s like comparing Barack Obama to Kim Kardashian - two VERY different public figures for two VERY different reasons.

I don’t think a lot of people are understanding this - you can judge her and say you’re morally outraged blah blah blah BUT no one here has the right to say she SHOULD be jailed or exiled as she hasn’t committed a crime. I think this is where the disconnect is in this debate. People can have opinions but no one’s opinion is holier than the others.
