Re: If Sap...THEN >
i'm also very interested to know about SAP.
everyone seems to say that the job market is in high demand, when i do explore my options, it comes down to which module to choose? i agree with fayax, no accounting.
Re: If Sap…THEN >
ummm… that depends on what your background is in and where you want to be.
I’ve worked with the HR and SCM modules in SAP and am hoping to get some hands-on training with the BW stuff sometime over the next year or so.
In terms of demand for specific skillset, with SAP, there seems to be ample demand for ppl with expertise in all functional areas - but employers generally look for experience beyond the technology modules. You need to have business background in a specific area and be able to deploy and/or use the technology as an enabler for business processes.
So if someone has a background (academic or work related) in marketing, it makes sense to look into the marketing/sales or CRM modules… whereas if you have experience with operations management, then production planning etc. would be more appropriate.
KAKA-ATOM-BUM is our resident expert in SAP (in fact he works for them)… so I’ll let him pitch in here.
Re: If Sap...THEN >
umar bhai. i have an IT background in web development and networking - what would be the recommended module be for my field of work?

With experience in web development, I'd recommend looking into SAP NetWeaver Development focus areas. There are NetWeaver Applications focus areas which I don't quite know if you'd be interested in.
From what I've seen recently, in the SAP NetWeaver Development focus areas, there's a lot of demand for these:
