Nature does not guarantee equal number of eligible males and females at any given time so we can have one male for one female available to pair up. Divorce, death of a spouse and polygamy are the only way of taking care of the biological needs of many who wont even get a chance otherwise (at least not in a halal way), so lets not dispute these circumstances.
What are some of the pros and cons if ladies were allowed to have multiple husbands at the same time. Lets keep the religion out of it, but lets talk about the social impacts.
I can think of a negative. Inheritance would be an issue as it would be hard to figure out who is the real father of the kid.

woah wait up a minute! you cant make this argument without expecting someone to dispute those circumstances!
in no way is the male to female ratio skewed enough to suggest that the solution of 4 wives to a man. in parts of the world males outnumber females, so polygamy is going to make the problem much worse..
its not as if parts of the world where polygamy is practiced it is because its a solution to a problem. infact if there are roughly equal number of women and men, and marriage is based on how much money the husband is willing to put up (as is often the case in parts of the world where polygamy is practiced)... the less wealthy men cant even marry once, and therefore cant get a chance... atleast not in a halal way.

if religion wasnt an issue, then its quite simple. find out parentage through DNA tests.

i think it wld just be awkward and super weird and gosh wat if one of them is abusive ... or if one of them earns more ... how wld the dynamics work
abuse and working spouse can work both ways. A guy can have 4 wives and two of them can be working professional earning more than the guy or one earning more than the other. Similarly, abusive wife may not be common but not unheard of.

Its not the only solution to balance things out, I also mentioned Divorce and Death
Why too much work? Women only conceive once, every 9 months, so its not that she would be giving birth every month.
but she would have to keep up with all of their expectations ( u know ...husbands and MILs) .... 2 2 3 3 from each one....
so con.. being pregnant all the times....
