Seriously!! It was a process that spanned several thousand years, including Greek philosophers, “declaration of rights of man and citizen” philosophers like Locke and Dewey and leaders like MLK ad TLk (haha) that cultivated the heroic behavior displayed by ordinary citizens.

When it comes to anyone you do not like, you brought pork eating and alcohol.

I bet you wouldn’t care if any of non Muslim so called “great” people drank alcohol like fish and ate port like dogs.

But when it came to any one who you dislike, you brought their "personal choices in to equation.

Why !!! did it hurt. It is not about double standard. Read the post and understand. While some so called leaders had a jolly good time, leaders like Gandhi persevered to brave it out and practice what they preached.

I rest my case. There is nothing more to be argued about. If you cannot understand the actions of people based on the context of the times that they lived in, my dear friend you are skating on very thin ice.

Every great person might have had some eccentricities which might seem strange to future generations.
While you are at it, it would help to read about independence struggle from a neutral perspective. It might open your eyes to the real world perhaps.

I wonder how many people here consider Edward Snowden a hero considering this is one name you would not expect American text books to praise, even in 100 years from now. To the world, the guy’s already made history, now who will decide how or if the History remembers him?

I wonder if the people or lets say Pakistanis, who act so painfully embarrassed, ashamed and apologetic over Jinnah’s use of Islam in his speeches hold the same attitude towards King?
