I will comment on that but mate again u r being very specfic to south india…its true that muslim people in south india and even in some pakistani cities get their young daughters married to some filthy rich arabs in UAE and SA etc. I know this because one of my best friends mum is from Mangalore she got married to an old arab and came to dubai. That is only because of poverty in that region. i am against it but they are very happy..her whole family in India got settled in dubai…she never had any qualms…the sons are doing great in dubai making a lot of money…she speaks he native language and arabic fluently…the point is that if muslims in those areas are very poor and get their daughters married with arabs for a better future not because of islam…same case as many desis from many countries marry in US, or england for a better future…having said that i strongly oppose both parties…but the whole idea is that u cannot take this into account and blame the whole muslim population and tie this to muslims being backward…I have a very good muslim friend from kerala in dubai…he only speaks malyalam at his home and prefers it, his whole family does it and they are also devout muslims…
if u think mate that arabic influence such as reading quran in arabic must be stopped that will never happen…it is no one’s business to tell anyone not to learn arabic and not to offer prayers in arabic…as long as a person understands and translates the meaning from arabic to his/her language thats fine…on the other hand if a person does not know arabic at all he/she still can be a very devout muslim…and mind u learning arabic does not make one backward…it is an advantage to know more than one language these days isn’t it
