We have a great home life, we have 2 beautiful girls, a happy, satisfying marriage... so what could a possiible reason be for him to remarry?? Just to exercise his rights as a muslim man?

their is nothing wrong or right about his idea. it is a choice, like do you want to go left or right.
Islamically, a man can make that choice or can live happily with just one wife. He is not obligated to do one or the other, but if he has reasons, he can chose to do one or the other.
however, its somewhat become a cultural taboo to even bring that topic up.

Paki, he does not need to explain .. but Afro has a point .. if he is happy then he should want to see the wife happy too, and wife will not be happy if he brings another woman, which should make him unhappy (unless he is a selfish guy) that his first wife is not happy .. which will make your thread title invalid for any further discussion
