Perhaps Allah chose the Arabs because of the built-in machismo that was already prevalent in their culture? If gold was not feminine for all time (as is the case today), why would a religion where “time is hardly an issue” prohibit something where time was an issue?
And he was but a man. So by following his life, even though he lived it as much as he could according to Allah, you are still mimicking what a man did but not calling it “man made”. What about calilng it “man made as inspired by God”? Is that any more accurate?
Since there were thousands of prophets before Muhammed and Islam was revealed centuries earlier, why is only then that mimicking everything the prophet became such an integral part of the religion?
The prophet ripped off a gold ring from someone's fingers and threw it to the ground? Gimme a break. You think a Prophet that is trustworthy and liked by everyone would do something like that. Are you going to respect someone who rips things off your body and throws them on the ground, or are you going to think the person is psychotic?
Some of these hadith's really do seem to be invented by people conspiring against Islam. If these things were haraam and so evil, then the Quran would have said so. It doesnt. And the idea that gold and silk are all becoming and NATURAL to women, is a bit weird. I'm sorry, is it in our other X chromosome that men don't have...that a female will have mental and bodily reactions to not wearing or wearing gold and silk?
Utter BS. You people need to think with your minds.
PCG you also think men are evil. We already know to ignore what you think because you don't know anything. These are actual hadis. Heck i have heard them from when i was a kid. I have been lectured by atleast 7 different people because i do wear gold. Medic and Mushi can atest to that fact.
Now Sem as we all know you hate Islam, you said it yourself. Why do you have to go proving it all the time? What you fail to understand is that the prophet is the example of the perfect muslim. So if he says not to wear Gold or Silk, that is it. He is a prophet. We are sinner compared to him. If Christ had said something was wrong and is not allowed for his followers would you question why it wasn't mink and not fake fur?

I will answer this very bluntly. Because christains have re-written the teachings of christ to follow what they want. There are easily 4 different versions of the Bible. The most obvious example is the King James version. That is man made religion. By changing what is decreed by a Prophet to suit your own physical needs and wants. The old testement, honestly have you not read religious lore? The Jews betrayed God and Prophet Moses at every turn. Why would they mimick the prophet then?
You are out of your league when posting in WA, but that pales in comparison when you try your bullying “I know everything, you idiot” posts in Religion forum. If the King James Bible is man made religion, then so is following sunnah as if it the word of God and on par with Gods’ words itself. If the Quran was the completed book, then everything that followed that Islam has now made an integral part of the religion is man made as well. Mimicking the every action of a man and calling it divine. Your attempt at a reply says nothing why certain things are prohibited and others aren’t when the obvious reason is because those things weren’t relevant at the time the religion was revealed. You speak about Jews betraying God at every turn. After 1400 years are Muslims doing any better?
Not everything has to be spelled out in the Qur’an.. is Pizza haraam or halaal or only haraaam or halaal for women? sheeeesh.. there is common sense use it.
Gold and silk are not haraam.. If Allah went to the extent of detailing what kind of food you can eat surely the Book was thick enough to accommodate any haraam halaal commandments on Gold and silk .. He didn’t.. so they aren’t.
^ I see, and Allah didn't go to the extent of explaining how one should pray. I guess prayers aren't that important. Do them however you want or don't do them at all. No biggie.
Does he say how to perform hajj? By camel, plane, train or automobile?
Did he add footnote to Quran that says prayers must be exactly as humans of the 7th century performed them? Or did he whisper things in Muhammed's ear that did not make the Quran?
What does it mean? will silken garment be provided in hereafter, if you do not wear it in this life?
if yes, then
Then doesn’t it imply that in hereafter man has no character (because he will have silken garment which is haram in this life but will be provided in hereafter)
After reading this, if any of the muslim brother like to be more halal and discard their golden belongings…please let me know time and place so i can pick it up and benefit from it..thank youji
As a verse of the Qur’an reveals, “… Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah and the Final Seal of the Prophets.” (Surat al-Ahzab: 40),
You have an excellent model in the Messenger of Allah, for all who put their hope in Allah and the Last Day and remember Allah much. (Surat al-Ahzab: 21)
Like the Prophet Muhammad (saas), the other prophets were also role models for believers, and enjoyed Allah’s good pleasure. Allah says in one verse:
There is instruction in their stories for people of intelligence. This [the Qur’an] is not a narration which has been invented but confirmation of all that came before, a clarification of everything, and a guidance and a mercy for people who believe. (Surah Yusuf: 111)
We only send the Messengers to bring good news and to give warning. Those who disbelieve use fallacious arguments to deny the truth. They make a mockery of My Signs and also of the warning they were given.(Surat al - Kahf:56)
Now those are all verses from the Quran. Now somebody please tell me what they mean .Tell me how one can discard Sunnah, when it states clearly i nthe Quran that the Prophets were sent down so we might learn them and use their lives as examples.
By now listening or believing in what the Prophet (SAW) said ,is that not contradicting the Quran?
Honestly semi that is enough mocking. I always tend to try to answer questions esp those of non Muslims, but if you can’t respect my faith and ask questions in a civil manner you are free to go drown. Rather get trampled over by a camel. :o
desinum1 and shweet whatever this also goes for you. If you wish to make jokes, we have a jokes forum. But do try to keep a respectful tone in threads in religion forum.
Semi I think we should discuss what has been said of the Prophet (SAW) and other Prophets, yes MEN, in the Quran. You’d be surprised. For now hopefully the verses I posted will be of help.
Ok, I'll reword it just for you. There are many, many details that God did not reveal in his book (the only unaltered word of God) because it would take a library to cover every minute detail of life. Why is the arugment of "how does one pray" such an important reason for following sunnah? Perhaps it isn't that important that certains words are said on certain days at certain times facing a certain direction wearing certain clothes in the presence of certain people. Perhaps God doesn't place as much importance on these details as many believe and what is important about praying is mentioned in the Quran.
Dear sir how kind of you. And agreed on the second part.
Alright what do you see so wrong in the Prophet (SAW) being sent down as a guide for mankind??
The reason why it is important to follow Sunnah when praying and when conflicted between other issues, is because God Himself sent down the Prophet (SAW), for exactly that very reason.
The issue is that in the Quran, God DOES say he sent the Prophet (SAW) so thatwe might understand all the day to day details. I don’t see how it is worshipping the Prophet (SAW) or how the religion can ever be termed “man made”. God knew that we would need somebody’s life to look up to. Somebody who we could refer back to and say “oh this is how such and such was done”.
Our first source IS the Quran. However religion is a way of life .Something one would/should (whatever you prefer) from when one wake up in the morning to going back to sleep. Religion is not just praying five times a day, or referring to the Quran just for things such as praying. Religion includes every single thing in life.
