couldnt we say the same about diamonds? Like a guy who wears diamond studded rings for example. Any ruling on that?
PS: I am not questioning why men shouldnt wear silk and/or gold. Ive never myself and dont intend to either.

Re: If gold and silk are haram on muslim men
Personally i wouldnt wear diamonds, however i dont think there's any direct ruling on that.
Re: If gold and silk are haram on muslim men

Re: If gold and silk are haram on muslim men
^u saying that cuz of its monetary value..
as long as u like it..shouldnt worry about how less it costs
mind u its a unique ring..in terms of its design, look and feel
and its more about its senti, menti and romanti value..
its sentimental calue is priceless ( its my Nikaah ring, i always put it on..after all whats there to hide yaar :D ) and for everything else theres mastercard..
Re: If gold and silk are haram on muslim men

Re: If gold and silk are haram on muslim men
haha. He is trying to go for the filthy rich rap star look. ![]()
chee there are enough rulings about needless spending. Plus I believe even if you do decide to wear a ring it has to follow the Sunnah code. Has to be same weight as that of the Prophet (SAW)'s ring he used to wear and etc. Not sure if I can get some source at the top of my head, but thats what I have been told.
Re: If gold and silk are haram on muslim men
The ring has to be same weight as that of the prophet? Does it have to be bought at the same bazaar and delivered by camel as well? Does it have to be worn on the same finger as the prophet and have his inscpription in it? Does the the metal from which it ws made have to be dug from the same mine?
Re: If gold and silk are haram on muslim men
oh hush up semi. And read again. :p Plus camels are nice creatures, dont pick on them.
Re: If gold and silk are haram on muslim men
What hadith does all this come from? Please include chain of narration.
Re: If gold and silk are haram on muslim men
M_Q forget what you heard and just for a moment read what you wrote. Sunnah is called sunnah because it is NOT fard (obligatory). It is an example however it does not necerrarily needs to be followed. Please in the future do not compare sunnah to fard (obligation) because then that gives way for jokers like Seminole to jump in and trash the topic.
I have no intention of wearing diamonds. Stainless steel itself will do it for me.
Hum Hain, a 300 rupee nikah ring? I'm impressed man. I have in mind a lot of standards to set when it comes to modesty and simplicity especially in weddings. Glad to know theres people out there already practicing it.
Re: If gold and silk are haram on muslim men
wasnt much out of modesty but i've got no issues with the prices of things be it any occasion..
like it, have it
look good feel good lol
also depends on ur financial halaat/circumstances.. was abit tight back then
if they allow then y not spend
unless u have Modesty in mind :-}
Re: If gold and silk are haram on muslim men

Re: If gold and silk are haram on muslim men
Are you telling me to shhh, Maniac, when I've asked for some religious information? And exactly who are you to do that?
Sharaabi: Yes, please.
Chewing-gum: As sick as you are, you are correct here. Sunnah is not the same as fardh (obligatory).

Thats a link pertaining to the unacceptability of wearing gold and silk and the permissability of wearing silver…
It seems that we carry a bit of hindu culture where poverty suggests you are more pious…allah didnt make them haram becuase they are valuable and you are not sinful for spending money…lol i remember the stares a bearded guy in salwar kameeze got when he rolled to the masjid in his mercedes convertible…if you can afford it then buy it…extravagance of spending in shariah is only linked to things which are haram…so buying a glass of jd n coke is a lot worse than buying a £30000 car…
If you can afford it then spoil yourself…
Re: If gold and silk are haram on muslim men
Thanks Naughty by Nature for the link.
Re: If gold and silk are haram on muslim men
Er when did I mix up Sunnah with fard? I mentioned Sunnah in my post, because the Prophet (SAW) used to wear a ring. I never brought in fard, I dont see how it would be relevant? I never compared the two, so er exactly what are saying?
Anyway I think diamonds would be seen as a waste of money, therefore would be discouraged. A lot of things in Islam come under categories, so you might not find exact details stating diamonds are forbidden.
I’ll try to look more into it for you.
ps.Seminole and others who trash Islam, don’t need a reason to do it. Seriously.
