We are talking about Lollywood - Pakistan's film industry. I am NOT talking about the days of black & white. I am talking about current music. Give me some names there please? Don't assume all of us are uninformed.

Currently, Lollywood doesn't even have a stock of singers, because Humera Arshad, Waris Baig, Anwar Rafi, Arshad Mehmood, Ameer Ali and Co. have ditched them to work on solo careers. So instead, they rope in Indian singers to sing for their soundtracks. Doesn't this say something about the quality of Lollywood music and singers? That music industry is currently practically nonexistant.

This forum has gone way off-topic.

I really think its an interesting question that the user has posted, i however, would like to say that Pakistani Musicians should not emulate bollywood. Sure it is popular but that doesn't mean we should follow in their footsteps. Pakistani Musicians are being noticed by Indians not because they sing like Sonu Nigam or Udit Narayan but because they have something different to offer. It would be a foolish thing to copy Bollywood music when Bollywood itself is moving away from the so called "filmy" music. Furthermore our artists our starting to make a niche of their own in the international arena and in a couple of years Pakistani music will have the same audience bollywood has right now.
