I am sure BB supporters will be glad that she survived without a scratch, however 140 people got killed as suicide bombers targetted her. A fact that she openly admits she knew of before, and despite government warnings for her to stay away she came anyway, and put the lives of thousands of people in danger.

I am no supporter of MQM, but still I can understand what could happen IF MQM had interfered in this rally in any manner. I am talking about events like 12th May on much grand scale. after years we have some degree of stability among Sindhi and Urdu speaking population in Sindh and THAT could go wrong by any foolish act like stopping PPP’s rally in SINDH. IMO MQM did the right thing by not involving herself in this issue.
PS: it’s a fact that in interior Sindh PPP always plays Sindh card.

and now she is saying the sacrifice [as if they died willingly] of these people is for the democracy. so the political wheel is already in motion.
as for why she was missed as a target, well from what i've read on this forum and on TV whoever was the bomber they were not allowed by the security guards/rangers to get close to the truck.

Now BB is saying that she was warned that upto four suicide bomber squads would target her i.e. Al Qaida, Taliban etc.
So this begs the question again as to why she chose to ignore the repeated government advise to stay way, and go on this rally and put so many thousands of people's lives in danger?

Yep, dozens of police officers and rangers were killed when trying to stop the suicide nomber from getting near the truck and try to kill her. BB and the PPP should be eternally grateful for the tremendous sacrifice these great hero's made. May Allah (SWT) bless their souls and all others killed in this great crime.

So basically you are saying that it was a good decision to allow this blood bath to happen on Karachi streets by the city government…Was it worth when everybody could read the writing written all over the wall…Basically she had to prove her loyalty to US and one has to be a suicide attack survivor to prove this loyalty>>>
She could have been transported to some Sindhi destination outside Karachi on a helicopter…If she wanted to play Sind card>>>

not at all.. I am not saying that.. what I am saying that it was BB's responsibility to make a decision she could fly to NIshtar PArk to address rally, but she chose to spend more then 5 hrs on ROAD with hundred of thousands innocent workers and sympathizers . she was in an armored truck she and the party leadership WAS protected. what I am saying is that MQM couldn't FORCE BB to make that decision.

wht about mushy's responsibility? BB said on TV many times about the attack and still mushy didn't do anything to stop ppl from gathering. even if they were PPP supporters, they are still pakistani and their safety in these testing times is government's responsibility. but he did not to stop the gathering. so don't forget that he is not without blame. if he had the brain to arrest PML(N) from creating any disturbance and mass rallies then why didn't he do anything to stop this. threat was there and he should had taken the initiative to make sure they were safe.

Wrong my friend, PPP was never very popular in urban Sind....even in ZAB days...rural sind is the main support center of PPP as far as public support is concerned. In Punjab PPP depends on powerful feudals to muster paid workers and supporters...

PPP was also not very popular in Hyderabad the second largest city in Sind as well...
Rest of the cities such as Larkana, Sukkar, Nawabshah etc I consider them as rural Sind due to their commercial insignificance...

and that there would be threats to her life, why didn't she just stay away, instead of allowing so many innocent people to die.
(I'm so proud of South African news readers - they pronounce Pakistan like any Pakistani would with the 'te' also in place.)
A little publicity is more important to her than the lives of poor people.
