If All Humanity Sprang From One Man, aren't we all ..............................

Apparently both Muslims and Christians believe all Humanity are the children of one man, namely Adam.
Muslims I know, regard him as a prophet.

If you believe this to be literally true, doesn’t that mean all humanity are born to brothers and sisters?

I understand that incest is a sin in Islam as it is in HInduism and other religions.

So what’s up here?

How can you believe in Adam then?

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/biggrin.gif

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/biggrin.gif

I raise this question because I see so many posts about the superstions and illogical beliefs of Hindus here.
I unhesitatingly accept that it is true. Hindus, the way they practice their religion atleast go overboard on superstition sometimes.

Also, I hear a lot from Muslims as how their religion is the revealed truth.

I accept that too. See, I am fair !!

So explain this little contradiction about all Humanity being one man’s kids!!!

Wait a minute, let me ask you a question.
Ive heard that hindus believe that the cows are thier mothers, as they call them 'ma'. does that mean that everyone is a child of a cow. Surely we would look like our mothers, and im certain that I do not look like a cow

well, maybe you don't look like a cow but then maybe Andhra does...which complicates issues a bit.

anyway, following this theme, does this make hindus who eat a big mac cannibals?

Xtreme Bhai, Assalam Alaikum

Let’s stick to the topic, namely ‘Holy Incest’ glorified by Religion

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/eek.gif

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/eek.gif

Hindus and cows are fine. For your information, HIndus are quite aware that human beings eat Burgers and they regard mad cow disease as divine retribution, especially the bit about Western farmers feeding cows with meat and getting the diseases they deserve!!!

ok let's stick to the topic then. i guess that makes me and you brother and sister then. How do sis? any nasty lads been throwing stones at your water pot lately?

Xtrme bhai, I am ‘He’.
Now, I have no objection to the concept of you being my brothers. After all I am a HIndu and we believe ‘All Humanity Is One Family’

However we don’t believe all the family has one father

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/biggrin.gif

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/biggrin.gif

THat is where the diference is. SO let’s stick to the topic and discuss how your REligion can accept Adam on one hand and reject incest on the other

Yes Andhra, Let's poison our 'mas' and kill them aswell so that her evil devil worshipping children en who have gone astray can learn about her glorious deeds and come back to worshipping her and useing her pat as facial masks......

Andhra bahi namastay;

It is general Muslim belief that Adam was first created from soil as an individual and than he replicated to produce the opposite sex. (after that his reproduction habit changed from asexual to bisexual)

All this garbage theories hold no logic, if it was true than many questions arises including the one you mentioned above.

The fact is Adam or Aadam was the first man who acquired Aadmiat, or the first Insaan who acquired Insaniat, in other words he was the first person who developed the intellectual ability to understand the concept of God.

Worshiping is a human’s inborn nature, people who even prostrate to stones or heavenly bodies are in fact lurking to worship something if not God. Some scared of fire and they started worshiping fire, some scared of sun, so they started worshiping sun and so are excuses but the fact remains that they is an inborn urge to worship something if not God. So Adam was the first person who feared God and prostrated to him and invited the people of that time to worship that One God - the one and only creator.

Definitely he was not the first of human progeny. Scientist have excavated as far as 11 billion years old human skeleton but the Adam they believe in was approximately 6000 years old.

Quran – the Muslims only pure and unspoiled tool, nowhere says that Adam was the first man. Yet he was the first Prophet, and a Prophet is always sent to a nation, if he was the first, than to whom he was sent?

Be easy with the flattery Mr. Xtreme, Andhra might actually take it as a compliment of the highest order !!!

Ok Mr. Andhra.. a quick critical analysis:

Where does it exactly say in the Hindu scriptures that all humanity is one family? I know Hindus have a very dirty habit of just conveniently making up stuff wherever it suits them.

Again, ** Doesn’t Hinduism (if it’s a religion at all to begin with) believe that Brahma was the first man? **

Answer these 2 questions, we’ll be glad to take the discussion further

Now this is a good one!

Zaalim read these following Quranic verses, and tell me how can u say, that Quran dosnt say that Adam was the first ever man?

Here are the verses of Quran about Adam.

Al-Baqara (The Cow) (Arabic) - Recite
2:31 And He taught Adam the nature of all things; then He placed them before the angels, and said: "Tell me the nature of these if ye are right."

Al-Baqara (The Cow) (Arabic) - Recite
2:33 He said: "O Adam! Tell them their natures." When he had told them, Allah said: "Did I not tell you that I know the secrets of heaven and earth, and I know what ye reveal and what ye conceal?"

Al-Baqara (The Cow) (Arabic) - Recite
2:34 And behold, We said to the angels: "Bow down to Adam" and they bowed down. Not so Iblis: he refused and was haughty: He was of those who reject Faith.

Al-Baqara (The Cow) (Arabic) - Recite
2:35 We said: "O Adam! dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden; and eat of the bountiful things therein as (where and when) ye will; but approach not this tree, or ye run into harm and transgression."

Al-Baqara (The Cow) (Arabic) - Recite
2:37 Then learnt Adam from his Lord words of inspiration, and his Lord Turned towards him; for He is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.

Al-Imran (The Family of Imran) (Arabic) - Recite
3:33 Allah did choose Adam and Noah, the family of Abraham, and the family of 'Imran above all people,-

Al-Imran (The Family of Imran) (Arabic) - Recite
3:59 The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: "Be". And he was.

Al-Ma'idah (The Table Spread) (Arabic) - Recite
5:27 Recite to them the truth of the story of the two sons of Adam. Behold! they each presented a sacrifice (to Allah.: It was accepted from one, but not from the other. Said the latter: "Be sure I will slay thee." "Surely," said the former, "(Allah) doth accept of the sacrifice of those who are righteous.

Al-A'raf (The Heights) (Arabic) - Recite
7:11 It is We Who created you and gave you shape; then We bade the angels bow down to Adam, and they bowed down; not so Iblis; He refused to be of those who bow down.

Al-A'raf (The Heights) (Arabic) - Recite
7:19 "O Adam! dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden, and enjoy (its good things) as ye wish: but approach not this tree, or ye run into harm and transgression."

Al-A'raf (The Heights) (Arabic) - Recite
7:26 O ye Children of Adam! We have bestowed raiment upon you to cover your shame, as well as to be an adornment to you. But the raiment of righteousness,- that is the best. Such are among the Signs of Allah, that they may receive admonition!

Al-A'raf (The Heights) (Arabic) - Recite
7:27 O ye Children of Adam! Let not Satan seduce you, in the same manner as He got your parents out of the Garden, stripping them of their raiment, to expose their shame: for he and his tribe watch you from a position where ye cannot see them: We made the evil ones friends (only) to those without faith.

Al-A'raf (The Heights) (Arabic) - Recite
7:31 O Children of Adam! wear your beautiful apparel at every time and place of prayer: eat and drink: But waste not by excess, for Allah loveth not the wasters.

Al-A'raf (The Heights) (Arabic) - Recite
7:35 O ye Children of Adam! whenever there come to you apostles from amongst you, rehearsing My signs unto you,- those who are righteous and mend (their lives),- on them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve.

Al-A'raf (The Heights) (Arabic) - Recite
7:172 When thy Lord drew forth from the Children of Adam - from their loins - their descendants, and made them testify concerning themselves, (saying): "Am I not your Lord (who cherishes and sustains you)?"- They said: "Yea! We do testify!" (This), lest ye should say on the Day of Judgment: "Of this we were never mindful":

Isra', The Night Journey, Children Of Israel (Arabic) - Recite
17:61 Behold! We said to the angels: "Bow down unto Adam": They bowed down except Iblis: He said, "Shall I bow down to one whom Thou didst create from clay?"

Isra', The Night Journey, Children Of Israel (Arabic) - Recite
17:70 We have honoured the sons of Adam; provided them with transport on land and sea; given them for sustenance things good and pure; and conferred on them special favours, above a great part of our creation.

The Cave (Arabic) - Recite
18:50 Behold! We said to the angels, "Bow down to Adam": They bowed down except Iblis. He was one of the Jinns, and he broke the Command of his Lord. Will ye then take him and his progeny as protectors rather than Me? And they are enemies to you! Evil would be the exchange for the wrong-doers!

Mary (Arabic) - Recite
19:58 Those were some of the prophets on whom Allah did bestow His Grace,- of the posterity of Adam, and of those who We carried (in the Ark) with Noah, and of the posterity of Abraham and Israel of those whom We guided and chose. Whenever the Signs of ((Allah)) Most Gracious were rehearsed to them, they would fall down in prostrate adoration and in tears.

Ta-ha (Arabic) - Recite
20:115 We had already, beforehand, taken the covenant of Adam, but he forgot: and We found on his part no firm resolve.

Ta-ha (Arabic) - Recite
20:116 When We said to the angels, "Prostrate yourselves to Adam", they prostrated themselves, but not Iblis: he refused.

Ta-ha (Arabic) - Recite
20:117 Then We said: "O Adam! verily, this is an enemy to thee and thy wife: so let him not get you both out of the Garden, so that thou art landed in misery.

Ta-ha (Arabic) - Recite
20:120 But Satan whispered evil to him: he said, "O Adam! shall I lead thee to the Tree of Eternity and to a kingdom that never decays?"

Ta-ha (Arabic) - Recite
20:121 In the result, they both ate of the tree, and so their nakedness appeared to them: they began to sew together, for their covering, leaves from the Garden: thus did Adam disobey his Lord, and allow himself to be seduced.

Ya-sin (Arabic) - Recite
36:60 "Did I not enjoin on you, O ye Children of Adam, that ye should not worship Satan; for that he was to you an enemy avowed?-

I hope these verses should clear every thing....

Dont think "you can" know "you can"
.::. ¢¼ ﷲ ﻼﺃ ﷲﺃ ﻶ ¢¼ .::.

Incest is forbidden in Islam. Ok, that’s clear.

During the time of the Prophet Adam (a.s), the rules were different. The prohibition against Incest is applicable now. **Okay, this may be too complicated for a Hindu brain, but try harder, trust me if you try hard and pressure your hindu brain enough, you’ll get the hang of it. **

Now, that I’ve given you this exercise, I hope that you will do your homework and do your best to try to think sensibly. I realize that this is too much to ask of a hindu, but lets give it a try. After all, practise makes a man perfect, and who knows if you try hard enough you may be able to think clearly like the Muslims.

I give you 3 days to be able to understand it. It’s really not that hard ! Ok !!!

Now, lets consider a few more points:

**(1) Why do Hindus worship the male penis? Literally !!! The male sexual organ !!! Hmmm… what do Hindu ladies feel about this? And some Hindus even go to the extent of keeping their last name “Shiv Lingam” (Penis of lord[sic] Shiva).

(2) If you read the Bible, Genesis 19:36 - If you read that, then according to that a daughter can have sex with her father and get pregnant. And it’s mentioned SO CASUALLY as if it’s NOTHING UNUSUAL.** Well, I know you are not Christian, but just wanted to let you know.

**(3) Why does Hinduism have the concept of DevDasi (i.e LEGAL SEXUAL SLAVERY) where a woman of a lower caste serves as a sexual slave for a hindu of an upper caste? **

Maybe if you could answer these questions, the discussion might get very lively

Well said, Flamez and Indian_Muslim

Play your game - Guess my motto

Man, is it me or has Andhra met his match in Indian_Muslim? the guy is mauling poor Andhra with the same magnitude and quantity of smilies and everything else.

Keep it coming bro, I_M! You're doing a damn fine job!!

Zaalim, flameZZ has given enough quotes from Koran.
I think after that we agree that Koran does say Adam is the first human being.

NOw Indian_Muslim,

(1) Why do Hindus worship the male penis? Literally !!! The male sexual organ !!! Hmmm… what do Hindu ladies feel about this? And some Hindus even go to the extent of keeping their last name “Shiv Lingam” (Penis of lord[sic] Shiva).

It is a hangover from the animistic origins of Hinduism. Humans worshipped the reproductive organs, gave them sanctity because they alone are capable of creating life.

(2) If you read the Bible, Genesis 17:36 - If you read that, then according to that a daughter can have sex with her father and get pregnant. And it’s mentioned SO CASUALLY as if it’s NOTHING UNUSUAL. Well, I know you are not Christian, but just wanted to let you know.

I am not a christian.

(3) Why does Hinduism have the concept of DevDasi (i.e LEGAL SEXUAL SLAVERY) where a woman of a lower caste serves as a sexual slave for a hindu of an upper caste

Devdasis are long abandoned. It was kinda Las-Vegas thing in Hinduism

Now, let’s stick to the topic. You said incest is OK in Adam’s time but not Now. Where is the authority for that. Does Koran or Hadith say that for example?

Somebody else was trying to give a different spin saying that Adam was the first human being who recognized God or something.

Doesn’t fly you know. It is quite clear that both Muslims and Christians regard Adam as the first human being.

Lastly Indian_Muslim what has Hindu worship of phalus and DevDasi tradition to do with Adam’s incest?

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/biggrin.gif

Mind, you yourself said

"
Incest is forbidden in Islam. Ok, that’s clear.
During the time of the Prophet Adam (a.s), the rules were different. "

Now, who gave the right to do that to Adam?
Also keep in Mind, this is YOUR RELIGION. If somebody comes and tells me all Hindus are born out of one man, I will

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/mad.gif

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/mad.gif

dear FLAMZZ, just one verse, where it says ADAM WAS THE FIRST MAN ON EARTH.

I will appreciate that

Stop splitting hairs please.
Anyway why do all those verses refer to people as ‘Children Of Adam’ and not ‘Children Of ADAMS’.

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/biggrin.gif

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/biggrin.gif

Pleez!!!

Anyway most people on this post seem to agree Adam is indeed the first human being.

Seeing that is the belief of Muslims and Christians I was just curious as to how they reconcile their faith with the socially unacceptable practice of incest.
Indian_Muslim here seems to feel it is OK for Adam but not OK for Non-Adams

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/eek.gif

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/eek.gif

Anyway there is a little contradiction for believers.

Nodoubt I will hear a lota stuff about ‘context’ and ‘interpretation’.

No ‘context’ or ‘interpretation’ when it comes to killing Salman Rushdie though!!

Dear Andhra,

I am one for being respectful to one and all. But you I'm afraid dont deserve it. If you feel that you can 'force' the muslims into a corner where they will not be able to explain their beliefs, you're wrong. I for one dont feel compulsed to explain my belief to you. You're not a learner my friend, you're just an idiot.

Start another thread, ask the question again, respond like a learner and not someone wishing to ridicule islam, and I will respond. No thank yous needed.

-Ace

this gives me an opportunity to read all those verses one more time, but despite of so many references, none point out towards the fantasy that ADAM was infact the first man on Earth.
