Re: If a Shia and Sunni Get married…
Sir in my humble opinion, a Muslims is the one who; (1) Believes in Absolute Oneness, Greatness and Lordship of Allah Almighty, (2) Believes in the Prophet-hood & Ultimate Finality of Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) and Prophet-hood of previous Apostles, (3) Believes Holy Qur'an to the final book and word of Allah Almighty, plus also believing that Allah Almighty sent previous Scriptures to some previous Prophets, (4) Believes in Taqdeer, Angels, the Day of Judgment, Heaven and Hell, (5) Believes in the pillars of Islam, like daily prayers, alms giving, Ramadan fasts, pilgrimage to Makkah etc...............and Twelver Shias, do believe in the above.........To keep it simple sir, in my humble opinion, we should always try to find commonalities among ourselves and not differences. So anybody, who is getting married with someone of the same religion but different sect should be encouraged and not dissuaded by such Fatwaas............By the way, differences are present even among families of same sect, ethnicity & even real brothers or sisters who would never wed their kids with those of their siblings.
