But for the sake of this question, the method of praying, the political views on Islam and of course the days of Muharram. There is also how you will raise kids etc. Personally, it shouldn't make a difference and in my family it has happened where my cousin got married into a Shia family. Some elders had issues since she was the girl going into the Shia family but the couple is very happy and no issues whatsoever.

hmmmm nothing serious I guess but I do know a couple like that where the girl was shia and the guy was sunni. Quite interestingly the kids followed the shia school of thought, may be it's because the Shia's are more aggressive (kattar) in terms of following their rulings and rituals

All I can say is I have a friend whose father is shia and mom is sunni and I dont think there are any conflicts in their life.

Nothing happens if the couple shows magnanimity. My grand father was a Shia and grand mother, Ahle-Hadith. My father, a Shia and my mother, Sunni. Myself, my wife and kids..............Sufis.

There shouldn't be any problem, look man if you read the Quran, there is no such thing as Shia or Sunni, it even commands you to not divide yourself in groups.
Don't be a shia or a sunni, just say you're Muslim.

It depends on the couple whether they make a big issue of small things or not. My sister is married to a Shia and no issues whatsoever.

(Like seriously, I think we have bigger issues than shia-sunni weddings! Although I know some Syed think there will be azaab on them if they marry their daughter to a regular muslim, but thats another issue)

Theoretically there shouldn't be an issue, a Muslim's a Muslim. But tbh I think a devout Sunni would be uncomfortable with the idea of his/her kids following Shiite rituals (and vice versa I'm sure). Depends on the level of religiousness in the couple.

Sufism is not a sect or madhab, there are sufi shias and sufi sunnis, being just a sufi doesn't make sense unless you're talking about universal sufis.

half the children will be shi'as and the other half sunnis...this happened to one of my cousins...she married a shi'a and her sons are shi'as [followed Dad's religion] and the daughters are sunnis. all daughters married sunni guys while all sons married shi'a girls...so, the tradition lives on... :)

I know a few couples that are shia/ sunni and it looks like they are content with their lives.. but then again what you see on the outside might not be what goes on behind closed doors..
