If a married Muslim man seeing some other woman.

Is he cheating or looking for a second wife ? After all Muslim men are allowed to have 4 wives .

Disclaimer: It is a hypothetical question. I am not seeing someone.

Re: If a married Muslim man seeing some other woman.

WOW...never thought of this loophole... :D

you sould like a Tax attorney presenting the "ways around" while filing tax :D

Re: If a married Muslim man seeing some other woman.

Well if hes fooling around hes cheating. If he informs his wife he wants another wife, Then atleast hes told her. Let him do a nikkah.

Re: If a married Muslim man seeing some other woman.

But regardless the fact that he thought of another woman as being a future wife - is that cheating?those are not random thoughts. Usually you know someone and have been actively hanging out with them to get to that conclusion.

PCG mera blog dekha?

..and unlimited booty calls via muttah

You’re allowed 4 marriages ONLY if we give you permission :snooty:

Re: If a married Muslim man seeing some other woman.

If he is looking for a second wife then he needs the first wife's permission and if granted he can see another women and it is not considered cheating

However if he is seeing another women and his first wife does not know, he is deceiving her then he is cheating

Huma , that is not true. Whether we like it or not, permission from the first wife is not required. I mean come on, think of it. Which wife in her right mind would give her hubby that permission anwyas

Re: If a married Muslim man seeing some other woman.

Yeah they dont need permission they can always make up stuff to the imaam like 'she doesnt cook my daal like ami' Anyways My dads auntys husband married again and ... his 2 wives live in the same house, one upstairs one downstairs. hmf yes imagine that!

Re: If a married Muslim man seeing some other woman.

interesting..........i guess i need to do some research, i thought permission was needed.......well either way if the wife does not know then technically he is deceiving her and that is considered cheating "technically".....no?

Re: If a married Muslim man seeing some other woman.

thn shudnt his wife be aware of it?

Re: If a married Muslim man seeing some other woman.

Yep, But do they care? Nope. They all bring the 3-4 wife thing in when they want too. Wether permission is needed or not. They dont care.

Re: If a married Muslim man seeing some other woman.

Guac, I know its a sensitive topic but just because you and I are sensitive towards that does not change the islamic ruling. But good thing is, considering current economical situation and what it takes to raise a family, only a fool would go and marry twice. :hehe:

MixedB, not only that he does not need a permission, he does not even need a justification. So he does not need to justify anything in front of an imam.

My mom's khala couldn't conceive for the first 11 years of her marriage. Her husband anxiously wanted to get married again for the sake of a child. But my mom's khaala didn't allow him for obvious reasons. And he was kind enough to not get married until he had gotten her permission. After 15 years of marriage, things got really bad. My mom's khaalu started thinking of divorce. The same year mom's khaala went on Hajj and Alhumdulillah she conceived within a few months of coming back from Hajj. And she had twins (subhanallah). One girl (sidra) and one boy (ahsan). Ahsan Bhai recently got married, they're living a happy life Mashallah.

It doesn't matter whether there's a surah or not which says you HAVE to get your first wife's permission. As a muslim you should be thinking about what Prophet Mohammad s.a.w. would have done.

Well, if he does not tell his wife then it comes under a lie, not adultery. If he is man enough to go and marry another person, he should have the back bone to come and tell his first wife so she can decide whether she wants to live with him or not. She has every right to leave her hubby if she is not in agreement with the arrangement.
