Salamz Everyone! I am getting married this July InshaAllah and I attached a few pics of my hall…I was wondering if you all could be so kind as to help me with decoration ideas and what not. The decorators here are EXTREMELY expensive and I would prefer to do it myself…after all it is my day We are doing a white and pink theme so please give me any and ALL ideas that you may have to make my day a spectacular one!!
**Does anyone know how to make those bows that go behind the chairs? **
but i would have the cieling with drapes of the theme im gona go with…and the focal point have to be the table center pieces…now looking at the size of the table and chairs, its pretty big…which can be a good thing as u’ll have to use less center pieces…
im thinking go with a big and tall center piece, im thinking flowers…maybe a nice bouquet in the middle…im thinking do the table up with the right cutlery etc…
u have a huge dance floor, u can either put the tables nearer in as otherwise everybody will be seated too far away…unless ur planin to dance afterwards…
im thinking a buuutiful walk in for u…and yes make it a white/cream carpet then the usual red…well actually it depends on wot ur wearing…i went mine with white carpet…flawless!!!
and im thinking small waist high pillars on each side of ur walk in…with a drape attached to each…and flowers on them…im thinking of a magnificient stage, u have to have fairy lights put on them, u have to get the party lights on the stage…dim the room slightly, but not too much…
on 2nd hand…leave the hall as it is, its already made up, floors good, caarpets good, chandliers good, stage is good, save the moeny and keep it as it is…
i'd say hire someone and save yourself and your friends the headache. your friends would be the ones doing it so you need to recruit good, responsible friends who'll do it the way you want it done. there is no way you can do it all on the day or, or even the day before, your wedding- and they probably won't let you in any sooner. instead of going all out, talk to a florist and get nice centrepieces made, add lots of candles, and spend a little bit on chair covers and nice table overlays. it will look nicely done up then. if you're keeping the headtable and not a stage, then it just needs a small arrangement and candles as well.
a florst will have all the necessary bits for centrepieces. you can rent the vases from them too. votive and tealight candles you can buy from walmart even or costco, same with the holders. or look up wholesale candles in the yellowpages in your area.
you can do the centrepieces the day before, and put them in a cool room with water in the vases. get your flowers from a wholesaler too, they're much much cheaper.
you can discuss the layout with a trusted friend and have her pick them up from your place and deliver/set up at the hall the morning of the wedding.
Don't do it yourself! You need to be relaxed and well rested on your wedding day. No amount of make up can give you the look a good night of sleep can. You want to be concentrating on your own look, not the hall's that day. Get your ideas together and then give it to someone else to execute.
Pakifairy those are gorgeous pictures. I think the pictures were a very creative touch and the cupcakes look delicious! Who did the decorations? And how did you get your wedding picture printed and installed in a frame the very next day with all the hustle and bustle?
