He should be able to live wherever he wants.
If he has established his livelihood and home in India he should be able to keep it legally and not forced to leave until he wishes to.
Heck he should even be able to have dual citizenship of India and Pakistan both.
His wanting to live in India doesn't mean he cares less for Pakistan.
If he found better opportunity to exploit his talent in India and moved there doesn't mean that he gave up his Pakistani heritage.
At least that's what I got from his TV interviews when he visited Pak with his wife last year.
I think the article and your thread title may be putting words into his mouth.

Mumbai...The way Pakistani actors and singers are treated in India is not hidden from anyone. But still Pakistani singer Adnan Sami is adamant in living in India. Just recently after a request was lodged in Mumbai high court (regarding a case), Adnan Sami's all property was seized/confiscated and he was banned from travelling abroad. Still he wants to have connection with india and were seen saying he'll live in a tent in india but cant even think of going back to Pakistan. Even with singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's and filmstar Meera's examples (the treatment) and with Pakistani roots Adnan still consider India as his own country. Just recently Indian high court has allowed Adnan to travel abroad for the concerts but now people will question and think that he might flee the country in the name of concerts and will transfer his property ect too in foreign banks. But adnan has strictly denied all these rumours. He says his relation is from which ever country but now he is related to India where he not only has his career but his home and family too therefore he cannot even think of leaving all this"**

‘The Jang’ Urdu article and its sister English paper ‘The News’ may have embellished some information and quoted out of context to sensationalize.
That statement sounds too blunt and undiplomatic.
Here is an English newspaper article on the same issue with no such information that is mentioned in the Jang Group articles.

Foreigners are NOT allowed to own IMMOVABLE properties. hw bought those properties and broke the law. similarly, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan also broke the law by taking a huge sum of money out of the country without declaring it to the custom's agents in Delhi. it's only fair that Adnan's properties are confiscated. i believe RAK got off the hook very lightly to come to Pakistan and claim once again the ignorance of law...he is a habitual tax evader...period!

Why is this such a big deal ? Its no different than Indians or Pakistanis chosing to live in the US/UK/Canada over their own countries.

BTW, i dont think adnan would say such a thing so balantly. i dont trust urdu media too much. they may have twisted his words.
had he said that it would have been all over the hindi media as well.
i mean it makes sense that he chose to live in mumbai as he has a great future here, but it doesnt make sense for him to diss his own country of which he is still a citizen of.

I think blessed just tranlated the Urdu article itself.
I wouldn't generalize all Urdu Media, though some of it does have a tendency to sensationalize.

In this case, however, I do think that his words might have been twisted or he might have been quoted out of context.
I doubt that Sami would diss his own country so bluntly.
If he is having problems in India it would not make sense to tick off Pakistanis at the same time.
