Re: ICC to probe ‘scoring patterns’ in 3rd ODI between Pak-Eng
I was specifically talking about the role of Hafeez and Akmal in the potential spot fixing during the third ODI and no it doesn’t sound suspicous to me. The number of balls the two faced are simply NOT siginificant enough to draw a conclusion that their scoring pattern matched a pattern which the Tabloid had.
Akmal hit 2 scoring shots in his innings. One was a boundary of Bresnon on his last ball of the first over. Was it Akmal’s fault that he hit a boundary on a bad ball? Lets say there was some spot fixing involved in that ball and book makers were predictting a boundary of that ball based on information they got in advance. Who would you question? Akmal who played a good shot on a bad ball or Bresnon who bowled a bad ball? Other than that Akmal played 3-4 dot balls in the begining and you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to predict that considering that it was the first over.
Hafeez just faced 3 balls for one scoring shot.
