He is so freaking good. Legend in Making !
Re: Ian Bell
After he is done batting... he will make a perfect coach too so technical !
Re: Ian Bell
Really ?
I dont think so
Re: Ian Bell
He might not be scoring big runs, but was batting at # 6 and now #5. He is very consistent and I havent seen a batsman more technical than him. Sangakara is up there but he is better.
Dravid is technical and Trott is just like Bell. However if i have to pick one. Its Bell
Re: Ian Bell
He is a good batsman. Has this atherton type persona about him. But too soon to call him a legend in making.. :)
Re: Ian Bell
He is good but not of "legend" level IMO, from "shots in the book" POV Younis Khan is much better, but thats my view.
Re: Ian Bell
I second Captain1 and Saby's views
but Bell is a good player nevertheless. Trott is again a correct, solid batsman, very effective with the bat but nothing more. Kevin Pietersen is the only 'legend' material among the current English batsmen. A legend to me is someone who can improvise with the bat as well.
Re: Ian Bell
Bell = Legend is a joke!
Agreed with the above comments. He is good but no legend.
Re: Ian Bell
Before the double hundred i considered Peterson weekest link in English Batting order. Now i think its morgan.
Peterson is my fav but Cook, Strauss, Trott, Bell are toughest competition.
PS: Some of u like to pass comments without reading, i didnt say he is legend. He will be among one of the top batsman in next 10 years.
Re: Ian Bell
On a lighter note, May England fill its line-up with several Ian Bells :)

I'll be surprised if Ian Bell is still in the team after 5 years.
Re: Ian Bell
I wasnt talking to u captain bahi, but anyway u wana bet on that ? if injury isnt the issue he will be still playing for England in in next 5 yrs ?
And about younis Khan, 3 centuries in 25 matches outside Asia ? so come on man !

Agreed Younis is way better than Ian Bell
Re: Ian Bell
Whaa!! how can you put Bell anywhere close to Younis! there is no comparison
not yet at least.. and i wud be surprised if there ever is..
Re: Ian Bell
I said AFTER 5 years, for next 5 years he can play ![]()
Re: Ian Bell

and Ian Bell has 5 centuries away from home, big deal?

Ok here is one interesting fact about younis he got 4 centuries in 4rth innings of a Test Match Only 3 batsmen has scored 4 centuries in 4rth innings of a test match
Re: Ian Bell

Yea only difference is, younis khan's home ground wickets are Faisalabad, Multan and Bell scores at Lords and Oval.
Younis had few rough years in the beginning and so did bell, Younis has been in his top form for last 6-7 years. Bell has started scoring in last 2 years and he is 5-7 to go. So I think next few years will be brightest for bell and alot of facts abt his statistics will change.
