So I’m helping my friends study for their exam in womens psychology class and there’s all this stuff that is pretty intersting but nothing I didn’t already know before, u kno bout violence, depression, effects of pornography etc etc… But one fact just S.H.O.C.K.E.D me.
In a study taken by male college students, around 35 % said that if they had the chance, if they would not be punished, if it was legal,** they would rape a woman.** This is from 1981, and, a quarter century later, I’m hoping hoping hoping things are better than that, but good god, this is just sad now.
hay Allah kitna beshaaraam hai......yeh adami....so wat wud they do if it smeone raped they mother, sister, etc etc ......wud they still hve the same attitude.....abt this......?........im guessing Not....
So, according to your statistics one out of every** three** men responding to this thread harbors a deep dark desire to rape? Alarming indeed. No sara, sorry to dash your hopes, but i am alomost sure the percentage today is anything but lower, if not the same. A study done in Canadian Universities has shown that percentage to be as high as 60%. Enjoy your low-riders gals.!!
Let me bolt before PCG comes in kicks the third male poster's ass to some remote pindi.
Dope, don’t joke or be sarcastic, this is very disturbing and serious. Like I said, it was done about 25 years ago, I’m not sure of the exact details but that was something they had to study and I came across it as I was helpng them.
Please dont tell me that it’s higher. Why is it higher? Why do guys have such sick feelings? Is ones own need so much more important that you must take away an innocent person’s sense of security, trust and hope? Why ruin someones life? And what do lowriders have to do with this?
there are many other things sara like this ..once i also read that 65% of the average skool boys bullied girls just as the girls are (innocent) enuff..
Sara, i wasnt being sarcastic. I believe the number you posted:( . I think rape has less to do with sexual lust than to do with subjugation of women. Women are more independent than they were 20 years ago, so that could be a reason for why fantasy of rape among males could be on the increase.
Case in point: we had a really smart, outgoing VP who happend to be a Wharton grad and a female. The guys inthe group used to despise her and graphic details of gang-banging her were always a popular topic of conversation among guys during lunch breaks. It wasn’t an isolated incident, but widespread.
Regarding low-riders, Islam recognizes that some men will always succumb to their depraved sexual desires, and therefore it makes it incumbent upon women to cover up as a preventive measure.
In 3 years I have never heard anything of that kind here. The most shocking thing that I heard in my company was someone making rude comments about people from Newfoundland.
I have read in my sociology book that 1 out 3 women in America are/were sexually molested during their childhood years.
Sara I am glad you are finding this out and realizing that the world really is a very disgusting place :biggthumb I hope you see things in a balanced view rather than become a blind supporter of only one group all the time. It will make you look very naive...
Dope why did they despise her? because she was the boss? Or because she had some horrible personality disorder that made her brunt of such disgusting brutal talk? Please, let’s keep Islam out of this, I just want to keep thsi widespread, regardless of race and religion.
I will never ever ever take a women’s studies class… it is too damn depressing Now I know why parents always pray for boys, so that they won’t have to worry about their daughters coming across such filth and trash… :yukh:
i think if a man was stranded on an island with just him and another girl the percentage of men who would actually commit the act would be much higher.
btw dope you got any links to some of those studies done in canadian schools?
tried to search for some info and came across this:
The study was done by Malamuth of Univ. of Manitoba Harber and
Feshbach of UCLA, in the Journal of Research in Personality 14 pg
121-137 1980. A study of UCLA undergraduates of both sexes response
to rape. A rape story was read by the subjects, who then answered
questions. In the story a male undergrad asks a female undergrad if
she wants a ride to her dorm. She says no, he thinks she is being,
“an arrogant bitch” he then forces her into the car and rapes her.
36% of the men self-reported sexual arousal while reading the
story. 37% identified with the rapist. 26% said the rapist was
justified (presumably because of the perceived insult). 38% said the
victim enjoyed being raped, while 47% of the women said the woman
enjoyed being raped (I am shocked by this). 8% of the men said the
victim could have stopped the rape, while 57% of the women thought
she could have stopped it. 36% of the men thought all women would
enjoy victimization, while 32% of the women thought all women would
enjoy victimization.
The worst part is 49% of the men said that the believe that other
men would rape if they could get away with it. Even more horrendous
on a scale of 1-5, 1 being most likely, when asked if THEY
personally would rape if the could get away with it 51% fell between
1 and 2, and 21% fell on 3.
