I am fascinated with the Mughal era and how regal and traditional it was. I love everything about it (along with peacocks and elephants, sigh) and totally feel like I’m born in the wrong era. 
I want to one day own and live in a haveli in Lahore. Anyone know where most havelis are in Lahore? I haven’t been to any but it is my lifelong dream to make it happen.

You can build anything if you resources to do so. Yousuf Salahuddin have a haveli of your dreams in Lahore, he is nephew of Allama Iqbal.

Sure, buy up an old place in Lahore, or a new place if you like the amenities of life, and get a NCA grad to interior design it and viola, I've seen some awesome work!

My inlaws used to live in a haveli in Lahore, in the main city. But then they moved to Balochistan, and the haveli was left for other relatives. Now it looks nothing like it was, and is more or less crappy. But behind the "jaaley" and kharab paint (:P), the beautiful architecture that once was, can be seen! :)

I’m in absolute love with these two places. Gorgeous! They’re more like farmhouse retreats but they are soo unique and traditional.
You’d be hard pressed to find anything like this from anywhere else.

Nah, can't give up te leather couch, the wood/carpet flooring....for the more rougher elegance of a haveli. I do however find more "unusual" houses interesting. I've seen some created in the shape of a shell....one that's made to look like a hobbit's home.....I find the more non-mainstream examples fascinating.
