lets start saying “Janobi Punjab nay kia qasoor kia hay”? “Sara paisa iss jungla bus par barbard kar dia” kia sirf Lahore he Punjab hay" Baray Bhai nay Motorway bana kar poray Pakistan par Zulam dha dia aur chotay nay Metro bus bari ziyadati hay
Re: I want to appreciate Shahbaz Sharif - (Metro Bus)
Rotary Turns of Metro Bus track at MAO College & Jain Mandir. This is one of the best civil engineering depictions; which have trained thousands
of fresh diploma holders in Pakistan. This experience and exposure will prove highly beneficial for their professional career.
Metro Bus System is being tested, which will be formally inaugurated today InshaAllah. Buses are moving on the 8.3Km long overhead bridge infront of GC University.
Re: I want to appreciate Shahbaz Sharif - (Metro Bus)
Best of luck to Punjab government, that's all I'd say on this topic for now.
Yes...good luck to them. Noone would want to see 80 billion rupees go to waste. I do think it has potential, but it was a ill-advised project at this stage. Priorities are all screwed up for the Sharif Bros. This money could have been used to set up power plants that could have created electricity to power the industries of Faisalabad, Lahore and Sialkot, thus restoring the jobs of 100s of thousands of people, and employing even more, as opposed to this Metrobus project, which will require a monthly infusion of almost 1 billion rupees for a long while to come, as it will take a long time to break even. But the de facto mayor of Lahore finds it hard to think beyond the Lahore-Raiwind belt.
Re: I want to appreciate Shahbaz Sharif - (Metro Bus)
i am angry at punjab govt as there is no paved road to my hometown a town of distt Sheikhupura. I cant travel from/to my home town after 5pm due to robbers and snatchers on the road.
Re: I want to appreciate Shahbaz Sharif - (Metro Bus)
Silaj, I hope that shahbaz sharif has carried out the feasibility of this project, as you mentioned that it will be running on 1 billion rupees loss for unforeseeable period. I hope it doesnt have the consequences like sasti roti project. In Pakistan unfortunately cosmetics sell, this is something tangible that the sharifs would beat about in the next elections. As far as policies are concerned like health, education, security/policing, energy and even infrastructure we don't see any policy regarding them.
Re: I want to appreciate Shahbaz Sharif - (Metro Bus)
After reading ppl comments, I’ve just remembered a story, No offense
Aik aadmi apni biwi k saath apnay gadhay pay beth k safar kar raha tha.
Raastay main logon ne batain banaai k, “Kaisa zaalim aadmi hay becharay kamzor gadhay pay dono charh k beth gay hain.”
Wo aadmi sharminda ho k khud neechay utar gaya aur biwi gadhay pay bethi rahi.
Kuch door gaya to kisi ne awaaz lagaai,
“Kaisa joroo ka ghulaam hay khud paidal jaa raha hay biwi ko gadhay pay bitha rakha hay”
Us ne sharminda ho k biwi ko utaar dia aur khud gadhay pay beth gaya.
Thora door gaya to kisi ne awaaz lagaai, “Kitna khud gharz shohar hay kamzor biwi ko paidal chala raha hay khud gadhay pay charh k betha hay.”
Usko ghussa aaya aur wo khud bhi utar k biwi k saath paidal chalnay dia.
Kuch hi door gaya to kisi ne awaaz lagaai, “Kaisay bewaqoof mian biwi hain gadhay k hotay hue paidal jaa rahay hain.”
**Keep working shahbaz sharif, pooray Pakistan main aik hi banda kaam kar raha hay ** magar logon ko khush karna waqai bara mushkil kaam hay
Re: I want to appreciate Shahbaz Sharif - (Metro Bus)
O bhai, did you write this article? Why is there no link to the source? I've noticed this a few times that people, jasos pai being the most frequent, post urdu articles without attributing them to the source.
Re: I want to appreciate Shahbaz Sharif - (Metro Bus)
Please don’t speak like Jiyalas. I am from South Punjab and happy with all these developments. You know in Lahore half of the people are from South Punjab & other towns. Me and my other friends came there and now MashaAllah we all are settled. So its just a biased thought to say its only for lahore.
Tanqeed baray tanqeed achi hoti hay leekan Zardari key tarah yah saray rupees bhi yah khud harap kar jata to yah theek naheen howa kah logoon ko transport mil gai ? waisay Motor way ko bhi aap nay bura he kahna hay
Me too have many reservations with them but I’m not a Blind Follower of any one who never see a +ve side of any other one person except their angel leader
Well done Shahbaz Sharif
Mairi taqreer khatam hoi aur aab aap loog boltay rahain

Re: I want to appreciate Shahbaz Sharif - (Metro Bus)
Spending 80 billion on a project which by most estimates, will help only a small percentage of Lahore is a good business decision, because no doubt, a major chunk of that 80 billion went to commissions.
Spending 80 billion on a power project which could have helped the industry at large, and increased the employment rate of Punjab by a ton makes lots of common sense, but no business sense.
If you look at all the projects undertaken by the Sharif bros, they involve business deals which provide quick returns. Sasti roti (useless failure), laptop scheme (major kickbacks reported), danish schools, are all examples of business deals gone wrong. Metrobus has involved billions, and for it to fail would be colossal. Noone wants it to fail, but the maths doesnt add up. Pakistan is in no position to undertake organizations that have no streaming revenue. We have cash cows that are currently worse than dead cows,(PIA, Railways), we certainly dont want another one. Hoping for the best. (Sad part is, results wont show for another 2-3 years)
Re: I want to appreciate Shahbaz Sharif - (Metro Bus)
Blind following is NEVER good. I like this project. But would have preferred health and education to be more important than infrastructures. But SS mostly believes in infrastructures. Considering ferozpur road was already small so long term feasibility remains to be seen. Read in reports that there was not a proper feasibility report prepared. Underground metro would have been a sure shot success here but it would have taken longer and was more expensive. However, it would have created loads of business and investment opportunities. It was Parvez Elahi's project so this is a big no no in pakistan to carry out projects started by previous regimes.
But as a show case, it looks good. Long term not good prospects.
A bit off topic but this is why local governance system is really important. So that projects are not dependent on provincial regimes
Re: I want to appreciate Shahbaz Sharif - (Metro Bus)
This is not a project to be admired technically but at-least some thing is done that is appreciable
There are great problems for every civilian ruler in Pakistan . They have a sword of fear hanging over their heads powered by one million guns .
I have to admit that Shareefs avoid corruption in present tenure but the were failed in controlling their MPAs and bureaucrats .
Re: I want to appreciate Shahbaz Sharif - (Metro Bus)
At least Pakistan's money is being spent in Pakistan and not Switzerland. Even if the project is not financially feasible, it has provided a little boost to the economy anyways.
This one is a bit better than the idiotic schemes or distributing laptops and money to people. At least we have some job generation and business opportunities associated with it.

Not much. People will invest only after seeing the success and usability of it.
