Is it possible to grow them at least 4 inch longer in 5 months period?

Re: I want long Hair :-(

I am into the same thing these days. I have always had hair a little longer then my shoulder length. Now i want to make them long. Last time i got the trimming by the end of December. Ever since, I have never washed them without putting in oil or something. This is what i have been using on alternate basis. Amla oil (roasted mathi dana, crushed and put it in the oil bottle), Olive oil (I have put rosemary in it) and almond oil. I warm the oil in microwave, at times mix castor oil in it and apply in my hair. Then wrap a warm towel for around 30 minutes and then wash. I also use egg, yogurt mixture at times. At times i blend the oil with aloe vera gel. From what i learnt:

Amla oil, rosemary and mathi dani helps hair grow quicker.

Olive oil, aloe vera gel gives hair a lot of shine and moisturizes them.

Egg with yogurt builds the structure of the strand and strengthens hair.

I have noticed a quicker growth in my hair. It must be around 2 inches. Also, my hair texture has improved a lot since i had almost ruin it thanks to straightener. And, oh yes, no straightener for last two months. I blow dry them on low heat. I use this serum called blow and go by nicky clarke(its for heat protection and also gives a sleek look).

I know its a lot of hassle, but on the end its worth it.

My dadi makes oil which is supposed to bbe very good for the hair FT, people in Pakistan keep asking for it. I don't like oil in my hair..next time we meet, remind me!

Re: I want long Hair :frowning:

share it with us too:crying:

oh wow thats too much. but i know it needs hardwork and attention. Thanks alot for sharing your totkas with me. At least i can try something from it , like getting all these oils and use them before taking bath.

I know good massage helps too. My sis has a house maid and sis told me to tell the maid if i want hair massage but i feel too shy to tell this to her maid :-S

Where is your Dadi? in UAE? chal millnay ka prog banao phir or courier me some. I will pay for the courier when I receive the parcel. :D

Re: I want long Hair :frowning:

i want long hair too.i am waitng:vivo:

i wish pulling ur hair wud make them grow longer.

My hair was in such a state that I changed my shampoo/conditioner/hair products (I did some research on the chemicals in your average shampoo and honestly most of the stuff in hair products are actually bad for the hair)
I use a natural shampoo and conditioner now and I can honestly see a difference in the appearance of my hair. Much fuller and I’ve noticed it grows more quickly as well. I’m happy with the results so far! :phati:

I also massage olive oil into my scalp but I don’t know whether it’s the actual oil or the massaging that’s improved my hair. So, maybe try olive oil? I really want to try that Dabur Amla oil…I’ve heard good things about it.

I’m in the same boat as you FairyTale…I want my hair super long for the summer!

Re: I want long Hair :-(

can anybody tell me abut walnut oil?once i heard abut (oil of the peel of walnut) it that it is much gr88 for the hair..any experience?

Re: I want long Hair :-(

To be honest, I think it depends on your own hair and hormones too. My hair grows really fast and I don't do anything extraordinary.

I would get it trimmed regularly, eat well and take Vitamins and minerals.

Trimming accelerates growth, so do vitamins. That is the extraordinary part u do:p

Oh c'mon you are just geeting a head massage:p

Massage increases blood flow towards the head. So the massage part as well as the oil, both help.

Special hair vitamins???
Or just the regular multivitamins will do

Re: I want long Hair :-(

I recently read somewhere that trimming doesn't really accelerate growth, but it is the only remedy for split ends. It has nothing to do with growth, since your hair grows from the roots, not from the tips.

If you dont mind sharing - what kind of shampoo and conditioner do u use now??? I have also come across stuff recently that says that chemicals in average stuff is bad for the hair :frowning:

Gina - u must share with the rest of us as well!!! :e6:

Re: I want long Hair :frowning:

I heard that castor oil is supposed to good in promoting hair growth. :hmmm:

Re: I want long Hair :-(

Take a vitamin supplement for skin and hair. Oil your hair twice a week.

I switch between "Burt's Bees" and a company in the UK called "Dr. Organic" I use the Very Volumizing Pomegranate and Soy shampoo and conditioner from Burt's Bees and the Vitamin E shampoo and conditioner from Dr. Organic.

I love my Burt's Bees products especially...definitely recommend it! Hope that helps! :)
