Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
Errr, I don't understand that question?!
You would want your husband to like your cooking...right? I mean why would it be a good thing?

Yes i want him to like my cooking and he does give me compliments for it but from his face expressions I get the feeling that he doesn't really like it and he only wants me to be happy.
When he eats my MIL's food, his happiness seems genuine.
Re: I think my hubby doesn't like my cooking!
DO what i did at the beginning of my marriage:
I used to get my mum to cook food/get a good indian takeout, then put it in the pan, acting like i slaved over it ALL DAY! :)
Re: I think my hubby doesn't like my cooking!
hmm , everybody loves food cooked by their mother's it just has a different taste , everybody thinks their mum is the best cook as we have grown up eating that food day in and day out
i know that i love food cooked by my mum and to me no one can replace the way she cooks , i even dont like food cooked by myself at times it just doesnt taste the same despite my husband and others telling me he loves my cooking
that is probably why us husband gets genuinely happy when he food cooked by your MIL
so its probably not that ur husband doesnt like food cooked by you , he likes it but since he has grown up eating food cooked by his mother it will have a taste he is familiar with and really enjoys
so dont worry im sure u love food cooked by your mother more than food cooked by anyone else.
but if he genuinely really dislikes the food made by you then perhaps you need to worry and thats not a goood thing ...

ofcourse his expressions should be genuine - if it's a mothers cooking. No one beats that!
Besides - somewhere - subconsciously - you want to overtake your mil's cooking - it seems - it's all good. Remember your mil had years of experience and you might be a newbie - so be patient... and try to learn all from your mil.
Re: I think my hubby doesn't like my cooking!
tell him u want him to be honest and that the truth wont hurt u.
and no love, if he doesnt look like he is enjoying the food, its definately not a good thing :)
Re: I think my hubby doesn't like my cooking!
food is very important in a happy marriage.
what kind of food does your hubby like?
Re: I think my hubby doesn’t like my cooking!
lol … wellllll it’s a good thing if you WANT your husband to hate your cooking! ![]()
hareem…ask your MIL for recipes that he likes…or better yet ask her to teach you.
p.s be thankful that he compliments you on your cooking. some men can be total jerks!
Re: I think my hubby doesn't like my cooking!
There is a simple test to find out if he likes your cooking or not. Stop cooking if he requests you to cook something then he like your cooking , if he offers a sajda a shukr then he does not like your cooking. :D
Re: I think my hubby doesn't like my cooking!
a good thing .. you get to take a break ..and obviously he aint gonna let you starve so ..i presume he ll start cooking for you .. and now thas two good things ..
and in the meantime, you can polish up a lil if you think that you cook that bad ..and ask for help from MIL ..
waisey bhi , you know k you hav the haq to just sit out and tell him to cook .. so why not ..once he gets tired of it ..he ll tell you ..
:D

The one is red: Is not that sweet of him that he does not care about his likes and dislikes but wants to keep you happy, only if that becomes the priority of every spouse out there, married life would be heaven for everyone.
The one in blue: See the thing is that, my mom could be a horrible cook but I was raised eating that food only. I am accustomed to that taste so that became my liking. Why do you think when guys marry a girl, they want her to start cooking like his mother. No because they thin wife is a bad cook, they just miss what they were raised tasting
Just make him a Pizza…everyone likes Pizza
Plus you will not need to worry about MIL doing better than You…:k:
Re: I think my hubby doesn’t like my cooking!
If I was you I would be so happy that he dont like my cooking because then he wont expect me to cook anything and we would eat out everyday ![]()
Re: I think my hubby doesn't like my cooking!
hareem, your hubby is a very nice fella and you are nice to even consider the possibility. You should just ask him if he'd like some changes in your cooking style. He may or may not tell you. Whatever it is, if he is happy with you in all other aspects of life, then cooking is not the end of the world. There are many women I know who are great cooks per their husbands taste, but they are nagging wives who make their lives out of the dining room a living hell. So, everyone has their strengths and weaknesses.
o come on yaar, honestly Pizaa is my last choice when I am hungry. I cont like Pizza

Exactly
Mian k dil tuk janay ka rasta :D
Re: I think my hubby doesn't like my cooking!
O come one people, that is a myth that path to guys heart goes through his stomach .. please for god sake .. no wonder we have so many tondoo/big belly guys in our community cause their wives seriously believe in this statement ..
it is not true ..
can guys come and support my statement please
Re: I think my hubby doesn't like my cooking!
THE WAY TO A MAN'S HEART IS THRU HIS STOMACH???
WOMEN want men to KNOW that the THE WAY TO A WOMAN'S heart is through HIM having A FLAT STOMACH.
Re: I think my hubby doesn't like my cooking!
LOL TLK
okay I will support your statement by giving an example....
My hubby knows someone - who has a wife at home that cooks REALLY good. My hubby has eaten there couple of times. However, if the hubby was satisfied with just the wife's cooking - meaning "that path to guys heart goes through his stomach" - then he WOULD NOT BE HAVING AN AFFAIR.
So smarten up people. This guy eats his lovely wife's homemade food... and then hangs out with the other woman!
