Hopefully you're not as unlucky as me and wont be dealing with jahil morons who have no sense of privacy and think its ok to look through, touch, and use other people's personal stuff and then make literally no effort to even cover up their jahilness
What’s wrong with having to make them go through a little maze (20 minute video session included) where they would turn out to be scholars on your rules & regulation before they come out to actually sit, by which point it’ll be late and they would wanna go home?!
OK, Nadz, print this thread... mark it as a **Rules of the Castle **and hang it in Bathroom, bedroom, dining room, toilet seat and in bath tub area... Hope they will hear you :-p
PS: Mehmaan Allah ki rehmat hotay hain, and if you don't like to see them in your house then it better not to allow them inside your home, it will be good for both ...

^^^same here :(
No,
Acha suno, waisay I didn't read your replies, cuz it was not there while I was typing...
But, in the west and specially in USA / Canada ... we treat desi's really badly, we expect them as if they are born USAnians, and we expect them to adopt social culture on the day they get off the FISH or boat!
Yar its not possible, we are from a Muslim and Asian culture, which is a family based culture, where we live with our whole family and grands as well, we share not only food, but our happiness, joys and sorrows to each and every individual in the family, in our culture responsibilities are divided, not that every one in the family do all kind of works... its our culture!
So when we come to west we also inherited this culture in our blood, and its really hard to keep that away! ...
So my request is, please respect desis, regardless what they do, respect them, support them, teach them, and please don't make fun or insult them just because they are FOB... else after few years they will also be laughing at fobs when they will become non-Fob, we need to stop this culture, we need to redefine the structure! which should have a respect for all!
Mehmans should realize they are Mehmans and observe they way people live
Like if i’d go to someones house, the first thing I do is see if they take their shoes outside or not.
Then proceed to taking my shoes off, if they dont say anything that means they dont like shoes inside otherwise they’d go, No No keep 'em on, we dont mind.
So you follow their rules and wait for them to order take off or on the shoes!
Why not you start pasting the rules on the walls? :-p
Yar apna khoon na jalao, I know what you mean, cuz I m also clean person and keep things according to the rules, lekin if we start burning our blood on these issues then our lives will become hell, so let them make it dirty, after they go go, make it straight or else you can start shouting on your girls as if they did wrong … they might learn :-p
Cheers and dont roll eyes on me :@
^ the above mentioned things are things that I really hate as well!! After i wash up at the sink I always make sure to wipe it down. Dont even get my started on the toilet seat!!
with that said…it would only irritate me if the people I am living with did these things because I would have to see it every single day. Guests are only there temporarily…so just try to bare with it with a smile. They’ll be gone soon.
@ teggy and HHL
:k: very true.
The Prophet (SAW) is reported to have said: a mumin is he who honors his guests and is hospitable to him. (Bukhari)
