I shaved and now I'm in trouble, sort off.

So I was trimming my beard, messed it up and then shaved it all off. It feel weird, probably cause I shaved yesterday after 2 years.
Now i have to go to school tomorrow and this teacher might get pissed(or not) that I shave it.
So I’ve decided not to meet him, until it grows a bit. To hell with checking my paper. Better a ‘B’ than a ‘F’.
How’d you feel if someone you knew shaved his beard?

Re: I shaved and now I'm in trouble, sort off.

Why? Why would your teacher care if you have a beard or not?

Re: I shaved and now I'm in trouble, sort off.

1) He has one.
2) He is a tablighi.
3) My group of friends at school consists of 3 bearded guys + my beard and a Shia. So he doesn't expect anything from the Shia but the rest of us are expected to behave a certain way, because of our beards.
4) He's the kind of teacher who slips into preaching while teaching. How are power generation and Islam related. How? He ruined that course for me.

Re: I shaved and now I'm in trouble, sort off.

That's really sad, Saeed. :(

But you don't need to be scared of him.

Re: I shaved and now I'm in trouble, sort off.

wow how silly.

Re: I shaved and now I'm in trouble, sort off.

I'm not. It's just that I have to be smart about it. Why risk my grade? I'm done with school btw, and don't have to see him unless I want to see my graded paper.

Re: I shaved and now I'm in trouble, sort off.

What? I didn't even write how I might get slammed by this Maulvi friend of mine. I'm expecting a lecture.

Re: I shaved and now I’m in trouble, sort off.

Tell him, “Islam main darhi hai, darhi main Islam nahi”. :chai:

Re: I shaved and now I'm in trouble, sort off.

I'm not going to use that reply.
1) I don't have a reference for that.
2) He'd quote the particular hadith about the beard and then the lecture.......

Re: I shaved and now I'm in trouble, sort off.

What school do u go to in karachi?? I will make sure none of my family members go there!

Re: I shaved and now I'm in trouble, sort off.

Haha. I'd be a terrible Alumni if I did that, make my university lose potential students. And it ain't that big a problem. And the only reason it's bothering me is cause I kept a beard for 2 years. First some people don't like it when you just get rid of your beard, even if they're clean shaven themselves. The rule is that if you let it grow more than 15mm(guessing here) people assume it's the Islamic beard and you are supposed to not shave it. Once my khalo's brother expressed his concern for my loss of beard while he was leaving for Canada. This was my first beard. Then the second beard, nobody really saw that, cause I had summer vacations then and this one was my third. So I've gotten used to it. And I had a long one every time, full on Mullah style.

Re: I shaved and now I'm in trouble, sort off.

That's when you turn the spotlight on him. Ask him why he's looking at your smooth-as-a-baby's-bottom face with such lust. Don't give him a chance to defend himself. Tell him to lower his gaze. Slap him if he doesn't. That's how you win.

Re: I shaved and now I’m in trouble, sort off.

This doesn’t even make sense . And he’s a strict one ,no haram khori and no looking at the girls. He looks the other way when talking to a female classmate and he doesn’t go to mixed gatherings.

Re: I shaved and now I’m in trouble, sort off.

I edited my post so that it makes more sense now.

Re: I shaved and now I'm in trouble, sort off.

He IS my friend. And I want it to stay that way. And he might not lecture me at all. He might just ask, Why?

Re: I shaved and now I’m in trouble, sort off.

Why are you getting so worked up over this? You’ve ALREADY decided what you’re going to do: To stay home since you’re not required to see this teacher. So, that’s it, baat khatam. If that’s the plan you’re going to stick to…then let it apply to your friends as well. Take a break from them until the facial hair grows back if you fear their interrogation/lectures so much but don’t want to lose their “friendship.”

I don’t even understand why you’re asking us what we would think about someone who shaves off their beard…when u seem to already know what the reactions of the persons in question (your friends/teacher) would be.

I shaved and now I'm in trouble, sort off.

Bro bread is in our deen, but our deen(islam)is not in the beard....deen mein darhi hai darhi mein deen nai,i think one should make his personality better rather then worring abt his beard,,,im not against beard its sunnah:)

Re: I shaved and now I’m in trouble, sort off.

Sorry ma’am. Of course I know my friends and my teacher. i just wanted to create a thread about beards, since I’m missing mine.

Re: I shaved and now I'm in trouble, sort off.

Thanks and I'm working on my personality.

Re: I shaved and now I'm in trouble, sort off.

if u kept it as a sunnah and u messed it up by mistake then i guess it wont be too hard for ur teacher or friends to understand.
If i would be you, i wont runaway from the situation, i wud probably go straight to him and accept my mistake, yes probably i will get lect (as you mentioned) but trust me getting lect's from parents/teacher ain't a bad thing at all, there's alwz some sort of lesson to be learnt from them. Its just you have to have a positive attitude and positive frame of mind.
