Great time to open a mobile software company. I have released a few applications for iPhone and Android for free and the response is tremendous. Anyway, I thought I drop a few tips for those who are suggesting names.
A company name is a brand. No matter how big or small the company is. It is a brand that needs to be represented and people need to associate with it. Millions of dollars are spent every year to make a brand respectable to everyday people. But if you choose something unknown, people have to get used to it, and it takes time. But if you choose a name or a word thats already out there, all you have to do next is to associate yourself with the word and that cuts down your marketing cost. Think about, Apple, instantly the shape of apple appears to you and the brand associated with it, Macintosh or Macs. Now think of the name Standard Oil, sounds like a company that wants to be the Standard in Oil? instantly it makes an impact on you. If you come up with a fancy name and fancy new logo that only you and the designer understand, you still have the huge task of representing it to everyday people who are unaware of it. Your company name should be something small and a word thats already out there or a complete word that you can associate yourself to. Show your comapny name around to your neighbors or friends and dont tell them what is it. Ask them if they would buy stuff from it. See their facial reactions and how quickly they can associate themselves with it. Think of brands like Dell, Sony, Digg, Yahoo, Google, etc.
Also think of TLAs [Three letter acronyms]. They are another good way of representing yourself but again its an old method. How many companies can you think of with TLAs? i.e. IBM and anything else? Ummm what about CNN, BBC, and how about USA, CAN, PAK? and my personal favorite NSA 
I hope I have explained some of the concepts in Brand.ing correctly but I suggest you read a book on Brand.ing to discover them yourself and think creatively to come up with a name.
As for my suggestion or contribution and it depends on what type of software your hubby is deploying, you can go with names like New Mobile Media, New Mobile Corporation, New Mobile Inc.
etc etc
I have heard that name before, Make sure you don't run into copyright issues and stuff
