Re: I need a tutorial For Video

Peace Ask99

You can do it many ways:

If you live in the UK and you have broadband you should have free ISP webspace you can upload to that after creating a homepage for yourself. The addresses are not high on the search engines and you can put a password username access to your website.

You can send them a copy by post? But that does not deal with the uploading part I agree.

Create small mp4's on each chapter of the video and send by email.

Decide on the method and then the tutorial should be customised accordingly.

Re: I need a tutorial For Video

how long is the video… you will to open the video file in anyone of the video softwares and export it for web ,in the quicktime format.. that way it will minimize in size a whole lot.. now the question is do you have any of the video editing softwares.. imeem lets you upload larger file size than youtube.. and its much better quality also.. you can always choose the option of a private account in both imeem and youtube..
and it will not be seen by the public..
TLK shoud be able to answer more complicated questions of urs cose he is a pro..

Re: I need a tutorial For Video

Thanks Hin33 but I am no pro. However whatever I learned from our project, I can share.

ASK99 … as Hin33 mentioned, there are several options …e.g

  1. Justupit >> 170 Mb size limit
  2. Imeam >> no size and length limit but upload needs to happen within 1 hour
  3. youtube >> size can be from 100 MB to 1 GB but video length should be 10 minutes
  4. Dailymotion >> 150 MB and 20 minutes..

All of these sites offer Public and Private sharing options

What is the format of your video? It could be any format on DVD. If you have VOB format, you need to change that.

You can use PSPvideo9 (freeware) to convert VOB file to MP4. you can ask for as many output files based on size or length so you can control the length of your output video files..

Anyway, Mods of this forum plus others that Zobia mentioned can help you more, if you want to, based on the info you can provide

Re: I need a tutorial For Video

Thanks for your advice.Actually I m looking to send em through internet

The video is I think at the most an hour long. I dont think I have the software ..or maybe the other computer or one of the computers has it...Im going to check.Im as technically challenged as it comes:D

Re: I need a tutorial For Video

So if you can let me know in plain english :cb:how to find out the format, etc I can follow the directions like go to starty menu look under flain flain.
Thankyou:)

Re: I need a tutorial For Video

^^ Go to start menu >> My Computer (with DVD in) >>> right click on DVD drive (that has your DVD in) and pick EXPLORE

it may have VIDEO_TS folder .. that means your files are in VOB format, but confirm the extension of the files ..

if you want to, when you have the EXPLORE window open, hit Print Screen button on your keyboard, that will save the image of your screen on clipboard.

You can go to PAINT program, edit menu and paste that image, save it as JPG file, upload that file here and post that image ...

That will show me the type, file size and what not of your DVD. I can maybe suggest a more customized approach then :)

Thank You so much, one quick question my sister made me copies of this video, and in one computer it has sound and in other it doesnt...or I think for the sound it uses a different program. Is that weird or am I not opening it right.

Re: I need a tutorial For Video

this is not plain english hin..

Re: I need a tutorial For Video

Its not opening in this computer , Im going to try the other one. It opens as text or something

Re: I need a tutorial For Video

What format is the video in right now? In my experience i have seen that a WMV format to be most compatible with most people's computers and also very efficient on file size VS quality. You can use Windows Movie Maker, your computer already has it if you have Windows XP. Go to Start - Programs - Accessories - Entertainment - Windows Movie Maker.

Click on import video and select your video. It will show up on the top of the screen as an icon.
Drag and drop that icon on the timeline on the bottom.
Now you can edit your movie to cut it. Play it in the timeline and at whatever point you want to cut it, pause the movie and then click on the Split Movie button. You can then highlight the split part and delete it.

Once you're done editing:
Click on File - Save Movie, hit Next.
Give it a filename and choose a location, hit Next.
Click on 'Show more choices'
Select 'other settings'
Then in the drop down box select 'Video for broadband (512 kbps), hit Next

This will start saving your movie. Once it is saved, upload it to any of the sites TLK mentioned above, depending on its size.

At 512 kbps, every minute of video will take up around 4 MB of disk space. If you want you can select 340 kbps too, that will take up around 2.5 MB every minute but the quality will be slightly worse (youtube like).

Good luck! :D

Re: I need a tutorial For Video

No .. you dont need two programs to watch DVD

did she just copy the VIDEO_TS folder and not AUDIO_TS folder to the copied disk ...

AUDIO_TS folder is an empty folder but somehow DVD runing software needs to see that folder sitting there ...

Re: I need a tutorial For Video

okay got it ...it says AVSEQ01.DAT

Re: I need a tutorial For Video

^^ That is a VCD.

Re: I need a tutorial For Video

yes thats wat it says

Re: I need a tutorial For Video

Rename the AVSEQ01.DAT file to AVSEQ01.MPG . Import it in Windows Movie Maker and follow the baqi instructions.

Re: I need a tutorial For Video

thank you...so I just click on it and do the rename

Re: I need a tutorial For Video

OKay do this then. This should work.

If you have enough hard drive space, copy the AVSEQ01.DAT movie to your hard drive, then rename the file suffix from .DAT to .MPG Now if you double click on the AVSEQ01.MPG movie it will automatically launch your default MPEG1 movie player (Windows Media Player or QuickTime 5 player).

Also, now you should be able to upload the file, use IMEEM if you have high speed ...

what is the size of the file
